My mom passed away. Let’s say within the last month. As you may or may not recall, my stepdad passed away
about four years ago. Both were unexpected and both hit hard.
The main things that make it easier are having an extraordinary outpouring of love and support and me staying busy by being the one who takes care of all the business. It’s the quiet moments that are the loudest.
I thankfully have zero regrets with her. We had a great relationship and we were talking up until the night before she passed.
Hug your loved ones and let them know you love them. Take the time to enjoy the moments. When it comes time to share the eulogy, don’t be afraid to share the stories that made you laugh.

I'd assume their divisions weren't closing, and the company wasn't exiting specific markets, and the company didn't suddenly find itself with a shortage of work, so I'd say they were targeted for termination.
