Western Europe and even America only has tanks in order to counter the tank threat from Russia. Leopard 2, Challenger 2, Abrams, they have no other reason for existing other than to fight Russian tanks. are you raising the chicken? growing wheat and milling it into flour? are you globetrotting to find the requisite herbs and spices? scratch that, are you god? did you make chickens? did you make wheat? like conceptually?
okay this is a terrible example but like, i just mean when you say "making a telescope from scratch" does that involve making the lenses? making the glass to make the lenses? that last bit is probs a bit much but like if you get glass blanks you have to polish into a lens, that feels like a "kit"
really in this case its the juxtaposition of 'from a kit' with 'from scratch' like im trying to envision what making a telescope without making it from a kit would look like and it involved a lot of glassblowing or at least grinding/polishing.
I don't think he has the tooling required to machine the lenses and mirrors and shit, I'm just talking about the enclosure in this case
ie you'd need to cut grooves and channels to be able to adjust the position of the lenses as well as have tolerances tight enough that they don't fall out of place, dunno how plausible something like that would be -

Like sure, the unrealistic beauty standard thing does cut both ways, but the idea that you canât get a girl if youâre not up to some standard of physical attractiveness is just empirically false. My buddy in high school was really overweight and looked like a human chipmunk and that dude pulling girls left and right because he was funny/personable/sold weed. I was _salty_ about it at the time haha, but really you donât have to be a model by any stretch and it was a good lesson to learn.
And conversely Iâve known very good looking dudes who couldnât get a date because they were socially awkward as hell. Honestly having a good sense of humor and being able to have a casual conversation is a better strategy for getting bitches than looks any day off the week. -

The person that Kafka presents, whether she is aware or not is someone who is naive. Has a hard time understanding interpersonal and intrapersonal matters. Socially and emotionally, her emotions sometimes mismatch social situations and ques. She says she displays these traits because of autism/aspergers but if it is related to autism at all it's more likely PDDNOS, that said. I don't think she's on the spectrum.
I think she grew up either with one parent. Two parents, but one of them was either distant, negligent, or mildly abusive, while the other was oblivious to that sort of behavior in their spouse and how it would affect their children. Therefore it is likely that from an early age she was already primed to live the traits i discussed above. Which probably caused her some difficulty fitting in, making friends, and developing socially to a level society would consider normal.
If she was in fact raped, it was at a younger age than she is comfortable admitting, it happened multiple times. Multiple times by the same perpetrator. The reason that could happen was plausibly due to learned helplessness, which would suggest sexual abuse before the encounter she spoke of with the guy getting her drunk. Probably someone close to her family or in her family.
Trauma induced social and behavioral changes are compounded by her inability to understand her own emotions on a deep and fundamental level. Which is why she is the way she is currently.
Anyway that is my tentative theory of mind for Kafka.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
