It's pretty bad on some days. Sometimes there's even turrets like outbursts. Other days I don't even notice it. On a bad day, I'll risk being late to work so I can run from my car back to the front door to ensure it is locked. My mind goes, " oh no!, what if the stove got left on? and I have 3 cats!"
Besides over-worrying, my OCD is pretty manageable. I could give a shit if all of the binders are facing the same way or if a picture is crooked.
But if what if I left the vape plugged in charging at home and it blows up? Should I clock out early and check?
I don't remember the entire process when I got diagnosed but it was just an interview. The doctor literally urged me to get help. It was that bad. I almost went in therapy for it, but I decided against it. My OCD is more like germophobia, so I just tell people I'm a germophobe. It was really bad at one point. I was not allowed to go into my room until I showered. THREE TIMES in a row. And I had to be covered in foam from the soap. If there was no foam or not enough, then it didn't count. I went through a lot of those shampoo bottles for a few years. I also wore gloves to high school and didn't touch my books or bag bare-handed. I didn't shake people's hands either. I also have intrusive thoughts and images. Sometimes really disturbing images stay in my head and it can't get out. Nowadays I can go outside and go into my room without showering, but if there's been an insect or whatever that landed on my head then I have to wash it. I also wash my hands still often a lot. And yeah, when I leave the house I often double-check or triple-check or more to see if the door's actually closed. While it's not OCD, I used to peel the skin off of my lips. A lot of bloody moments were had. Man, what a mess I was. I still am, but not as bad. I have also gotten into altercations with people and some of those turned into fights. I would just shave off all of my hair with a razor blade just so I could clean all the parts where I was touched. And often I didn't know where I was touched exactly, so I just had to wash the entire area multiple times throughout the weeks before I felt clean again. I also get rid of my clothes often if I deem them to be unclean, for instance when I go to college. Then I can't wear those clothes and sit on my couch. My backpack has to be somewhere that doesn't contaminate other things. I also don't touch myself if I'm outside. Even if I have an itch that needs to be scratched. I even don't fight back if something like that happens, as a form of damage control. I think to myself, well I've already been touched once or twice, if I get touched more I have to clean more places. And of course, all the clothes that I wore that day are also unclean. Same goes for any object I touched prior to washing my hands. It's a very frustrating thing to deal with.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

When i was in highschool and in my early twenties i used to eat like shit. I'd have fast food several times throughout the week. After I graduated highschool and I proudly had my very own shithole, the fridge was empty except for 2% milk. which was only ever really used for coffee. The freezer was full of microwavable meals and in the cupboards were Campbell's and Progresso soups.
When this was my diet, I would have to #2 usually multipl3 times a day and some days i had zero. It was pretty annoying and frustrating that my poop schedule was just as unpredictable as when you feel a sneeze c'mon.
Been regular for about 2 years or so, maybe longer. I don't know why or what the exact emotion I am experiencing is but knowing I poop once a day around the same time every day gives me a proud like feeling or maybe it's more like a reassurance.

Ok BM it is. Of course calorie intake has to be a factor but as long as your diet isn’t extremely shitty if you eat fruit, fibre, protein snacks between meals it works out well (nuts and raisins for example), well it does for me
I don’t drink tea or coffee and the only milk I have is almond milk I’m having that with fruit and nut weetabix for breakfast right now with an orange juice
Oh and a banana too I usually have 2 a day
Sometimes I do have the odd unpredictable little BM
Shitting gives me a good feeling too it’s probably your body thanking you for that BM because it wanted to get rid of all the nasty shit left behind that has now exited your body
So basically your body wants the good stuff in and pushes the bad stuff out
That’s one of the reasons we throw up too, it’s your body saying wtf asshole get that nasty stuff out from me I want the good stuff in only
Man I can’t wait for my next shit now
Exercise too as long as you get some it doesn’t matter what it is but I’ll be honest I don’t get enough
