One other minor point of criticism I have is that some of the minor characters are insanely overacted. There are a pair of characters, a magistrate in colorful robes and some other guy with him in white, who are hilariously poorly acted, and these and similar characters are written as 1 dimensional mental retards.
However I do mostly really like the major characters. -

My impression so far is that horror wise, they are great at building a scary atmosphere but utterly fail to capitalize upon it due to cheesy ass direction.
Mild spoilers
There are many, many scenes where I thought that the directors fully 100% earned the placement of... Not even a jump scare but damn, a real scare attempt.
These are just impressions from the first 2 episodes, maybe these points are improved upon later. -

It's the economy's money. The currency represents a unit of exchange. They need a percentage of the money in the economy, not an absolute amount of money because an absolute amount of money means nothing. Like how you can be a Zimbabwean trillionaire and have a net worth of $USD 0 -

It's a serious point. Money has no value it's literally paper which is why and how they can print 1 trillion at a cost of $0
This same money that costs nothing to make and is worth nothing is used to pay everyone. So it makes no sense at all that the government which spent $0 to make that money takes a potion of it from you
If it's physical money I could see that having some value but numbers on a screen should not be taxes. Only cash transactions should be taxed like a finder's free for using the government legal physical tender.
The government needs to take a percentage of the money to operate, not a particular amount. -
