Hell yeah, being a jedi is where it’s at. I’m in all the media controlling meetings and e we get together every Thursday to review the week’s suppression of the clueless white man.

Wrong again young fella me lad.

Take a look at the ring nebular, dumbbell nebular, Orion nebular...star clusters like M13...all look great through a decent telescope...add a camera and you can take photos like this...another one taken from someone's front yard here in the Houston area.

Have you ever actually used a telescope other than a $50 one from Macys?

Here's a couple of pics a club member took from his backyard in a suburb of Houston (Tomball). Along with is notes:

Here’s a couple of images from my backyard in Tomball I did on 8/7/2021. It was 3am and I was fighting mosquitos and heat, but I prevailed. C11 EdgeHD, Televue 2x barlow, ASI462MC, FireCapture, AutoStakkert, Registax. I’m not satisfied with the focus on Jupiter but I’m not done with it yet.

And here is my scope (not my photo but this is the model I've got), the Celestron Evolution 9.25

  9. During the performance, Urista grabbed a bottle of water, and noted that the show would be closed out with her relieving herself on someone in the audience once she drank it all.

“Get my man with the can on his head ready, ’cause we’re going to bring him onstage and I’ma piss in this motherf—er’s mouth,” she said.

A few minutes later, the man indeed climbed onto the stage, with an apparently empty can attached to his forehead. He laid down flat on his back on stage, prompting Urista to straddle his head, slide her pants down, and pee into the can — or at least, aim for it.

When she finished, the man scooped some of the liquid on stage into his hands and threw it out over the audience. After getting her pants pulled back up, Urista walked back over to him, telling him to get off the stage and calling for security to help her out.

“Security, get him the f— out of here!” she said. “Get the f— out of here, you’re done!”

Originally posted by troon That's an interesting example, but it only covers one circle of r=1 in a very specific discrete space. Even assuming your example represents our reality, the question asked if circles (plural) exist.

I know, it's a special case to tell you that the discreteness of a space doesn't stop you from defining a circle with points in that space. That doesn't in any way change the point.

There's no reason to assume squares rather than hexagons as an example or even necessarily that a diagonal cell movement is necessarily a greater distance than moving to an edge cell (in a space where the discrete cell is a square, and a 9x9 box in such a space would count as a "circle").

There's no reason to assume anything. This is not a subject where human intuition is necessarily valid. My point has nothing to do with assuming my example is true of the real world. It just shows a discrete won't mean you can't define a circle in it.

What's the next radius in this discrete space that would be considered a circle?

Any integer r. Just keep wrapping hexagons around the perimeter. For example where r=2 that means you can reach any cell on the perimeter in 2 moves.

    1. Keeping the USD as the world's only reserve currency allows it an extraordinary set of advantages, such as being able to leverage its own debt for growth and to effectively control the rate of development of competitors through sanctions, exchange rates and energy (oil) costs. More and more states, specifically those not considered allies of the 'west' are opting to trade in their own currencies or alternatives like the Yuan

    2. The financial crisis of 2008 was never actually solved; their (not just the US, but the EU and most other countries) 'solution' was Quantitive Easing which is quite literally just printing money and tampering with interest rates, which effectively just borrows value from the future. We've come to the point where we need to add exponentially more money to the pool to keep systems running, which is why we're seeing even mainstream media start to worry about hyperinflation.

I wrote some stuff about the FIRE sector, rampant speculation and how much of the economy is tied up in things that are effectively just stores of value for the purpose of laundering but I'm not sure how much of it was relevant outside of Australia

you dont have to understand how a car works to understand what happens when one of its wheel comes off.

the simple answer is ... nothing.

    this is the US economy.

the users of USD is represented in this picture by our lovely coyote. and as you can see, nothing happens as long as willie e coyote still believes it hasnt ran over the cliff.

also hyperinflation is over-hyped, theres no actual inflation when things increase in price while people are also experiencing increases in purchasing power.

and the fact that hundreds of thousands of workers have no problem walking off their jobs just because they refused to be jabbed shows you just how much purchasing power (money) they have.

theres a reason vaxx mandate is easier achieved in developing 3rd world hell holes.

also inflation cant happen if and when theres nothing that you can buy because the shelves are empty.

at worst, it will be a tamer version of what is now happening in lebanon until all the supply chain bottle necks are resolved. this is also a preview of what a war with china by the US will look like in the US. the current shortages are either accidental, or is a dry run conducted by china to assess american dependency on it, or is a trainning session to get americans used to shortages to prepare them mentally for a long and protracted war with china.

my view is this is all just a big unplanned, unintended fuckup in the supply chain.

If there's some sort of civil war before or instead of economic collapse, I think the most likely cause will be some states (probably Republican strongholds considering they're most at-odds with the Federal Government) openly disobeying federal law.

There probably won't be any official secession, but it'll get to the point where the Federal Government sends soldiers or a paramilitary agency in a show of force and some level of conflict will erupt from there. Some states will send support, others will side with the feds

I don’t picture an actual civil war, so what will it look like? Just rogue people going out and shooting government officials?

Then what? I just picture them going to jail🤷‍♀️
