Point being, it seems like you're more concerned about people in Afghanistan than someone from your own country.
Not particularly, but "we" killed more afghanis than they killed of us. "We" killed a lot more of their civilians than they killed of ours. I just don't assign special importance to young men who got a rifle from the US government because we need to keep the arms industry in business.

Civilization has long since collapsed in this country. The untamed corporate animal roams the landscape unchecked, it feeds on the population when and where it pleases. This is the state of nature, a war of every being against every other. Life is nasty and brutish but it is not short, that would be a mercy we've not earned.

I clicked that catwoman clip and was somehow transported through the magic of youtube to a land of depression, drinking, and david foster wallace interviews.

On youtube:
"RT is funded in whole or in part by the Russian government."
Thank you Google. I really appreciate the effort at making sponsorship of content transparent, and making sure I know who's funding my content. From your willingness to provide transparency into the video recommendation algorithm, to finding ever new ways to sneak advertising into content you don't own, to your great track record of disclosing information about who was funding content during the net-neutrality media blitz corporate interests undertook last year, Google just has an amazing history of really protecting its users and making sure they know what's going on. It's only natural that they'd stick a disclaimer on RT content in defense of a whistle blower, essentially calling it propaganda. I can't think of ANY other possible reason google would be trying to give me this info.

There's a responsible way to handle these leaks. That's why people send them to Wikileaks in the first place, there is an assumption that the information will be handled responsibly.
People are going to die regardless. The military is literally the "go kill people" division of our government. Military efficacy equates to people dying. If people who can be fairly characterized as foreign invaders and thugs of corporate interests are the ones that end up dying, well I'd prefer no one die but they're probably the better option.

Why? I don't understand ostensibly anti-war dems that act like disclosing military secrets is somehow inexcusable. Like we agree that our various wars are wrong, so why is taking action against the US military somehow beyond the pale? What is the correct thing to do here? Complain about war endlessly while doing nothing to impede the military efficacy of our country because the troops are magically innocent somehow?

My terminal reeks of autism
this is... excessive. The runtime numbers are at least conceivably useful. Who has never needed icons in their prompt though? Also branch names. People fucking love putting git branch names in their prompt. I have ended up working on the wrong branch of a project like twice in my life, and each time it took less than 30 seconds to schelp changes to the correct branch. I don't understand the appeal.

Putin himself could be writing every word that's ever come out of RT and it wouldn't make youtube smearing it as politically motivated any less comic.

The Day Drinking Thread

I may even stop drinking altogether.
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my NiS join date, so I've been doing some thinking on what's changed in the past year, good or bad, and what needs to change.
So, I tip my glass in honour of the bittersweet transition from degenerate drunkard to master of the universe. That transition begins today, but truly starts tomorrow.
*takes a sip*
My philosophy in life is that if I can't do it drunk then it's probably too much effort to be worth doing sober.
