How to teach people things?
I know absolutely nothing about programming but I assume the people they put in your group aren't total idiots.
I've led groups before and I've figured out that some people just can't work with words. Visual learners etc. Trial and error works best for those.
You probably don't have to teach them programming but specialized tasks so a notebook with generalized step by step procedures(?) regarding those tasks is probably not a bad idea.
