Syria - After the Syrian S200 missile system absolutely didn't shoot down an Israeli jet, Israel threatened airstrikes against Syrian missile installations should they defend their airspace in the future. Syria has now responded and stated that they will respond to any further incursions into Syrian airspace by dropping TOCHKA SRBMs all over their petrochemical refineries.

As an aside, Yemen's tactic of using $200 drones to force KSA to choose between expending multimillion dollar missiles or having their SAM installations incapacitated is something Israel can expect to have to deal with in the very near future.

Witnesses on the ground report three large VBIED explosions at the site just prior.

IRAQ (MOSUL) - According to several local bloggers this is fast becoming a new favourite tactic. They know they're going to lose Mosul so they're making it as bloody as possible. People who've made it out are reporting that ISIS are intentionally concentrating civilians (they have control over 200k or so people in the city) into areas where they have militia fighters operating - specific reports are of up to 5 families being packed into single residences with sniper and mortar emplacements on the roof.

additionally, live VBIEDs are being left on the streets outside so that the radius of even 'precise' bombing raids are amplified to cause extreme casualties.

Can someone please explain to be why 200,000 people can't overwhelm a few idiots with guns? Especially if they're being intentionally concentrated.

    1. there's something like 5000 ISIS members in Mosul I believe and that doesn't take other affiliated militias or 'allied' citizens into account
    2. majority of the combat-aged men have either been executed or drafted into ISIS (or on a European vacation) meaning that the remainder are mostly women, children and elderly
    3. ISIS are experts at using fear and religious repression for control
    4. groups of people are kept isolated and cannot communicate with each other, let alone able to organise a general uprising

Oh nice a rundown of how fundamentalist Islam operates. How if only we could (n) find (u) some (k) kind (e) of device that could cleanse the region of such an infestation.

That's still 40 to 1 but I understand. I can't help but wonder how many civilians in that region actually support ISIS

and now for some good news:

Iraq - Thanks to the geolocating efforts of an online group, Malhama Tactical's training camp was located and rekt (Co-ordinates were found by cross-referencing landmarks in publicly released photos and video, then passed on to Russian military). 16 dead.

UKRAINE - NATO troops have moved in under the guise of demining, ie. cleaning up unexploded ordnance in the area of the fire. They're also reported to have taken control of the country's nuclear facilities, ostensibly to protect them from sabotage - it's not unreasonable to foresee a false-flag attack to unite the world against Russia and the Donbass, but that would be catastrophic. A literal Chernobyl 2.0.
