    Uh yeah, on the intake of the oil pump. Nigga I've taken apart lots of engines over the years and can tell by the bearings if someone doesn't keep up with oil changes.

    those thing are a coarser than your kitchen strainer.

    if they ever became clogged then you have a bigger problem than missing a few oil changes.

    Anti-freeze also helps prevent rust build up. Run just water for awhile then drain to see rust run out.

    There is at least 1 freeze day every year I've been here, usually 2 or 3...and that's in Houston, the Texas Panhandle gets fairly significant freezing and snow every year.
