Phone broke, anyone have a recommendation for a phablet?

  1. After seeing what Microsoft has done to our computers I'm amazed that anyone would allow them into their phone

I wish I could get a refurbished Note 7, hacked so it can't be disabled. IIRC, the percentage of phones with battery issues was actually pretty tiny. I don't know why they didn't just replace the batteries.

It uses Windows 10 Mobile with Continuum, a desktop-like environment for use with an extranal display, laptop and keyboard. So no. Normal windows does not run on ARM.

They haven't revealed the report yet but it seems to be a fundamental design issue with the Note 7, either its battery or charging mechanisms. There was an initial "soft recall" program in place; you could swap in your Note 7 for one without a supposedly faulty battery. It apparently didn't solve the issue because there were multiple reasons.

It's reasonable to believe that all Note 7 devices are affected, and will eventually succumb to whatever the defect was, because of Samsung's reaction here i.e. initiating a full recall.

it CAN run continuum. there's an available dock to use with anthing you wish. it has continuum SUPPORT. all that means is that it has a feature that lets it work more like windows 8.1 when as a phone, and switch to regular windows 10 format when docked. but make no mistake: it is completely windows 10. if that means windows 10 can run on ARM, then that is what it means, surprise.

it can ALSO run android. how about that?

i've even heard of people dual booting.

because the batteries are integral to the entire phone and not replaceable. thats why I always say I'm not buying a phone where the battery isnt removable
