But they were claiming earlier that the surrenders at Azovstal were combatants being "evacuated" to Russian hospitals and POW camps:

Nah. You can get cheap access in Poland with a Ukrainian sim card - I think (my KyivStar sim wasn't working right for a long time, so I was relying on roaming from Ireland, then suddenly it started working, dunno why), but nothing is free, not even in war. I'm 100% sure soldiers on both sides have died in ditches trying to get google maps going. -

I got 15. For my tablet only to watch Pluto tv or music streaming off my 10 inch tab.
It's really neat. Fights, games, movies.. you watch a minute of commercial here and there. It's better than tv with too many ads

don't they confiscate/block phones among the grunts? thought that was a major security thing a few years back, especially after those guys mapped out US military bases and troop movements with fitbit data
I've also heard carriers in the Ukraine are really sporadic because they're regularly blocked or deblocked for working with Russian/Belarusian/etc carriers -

Doubt that. More likely they called up command on the sat phone and said they were surrendering, and this is just the jedis and anglos in Kyiv trying to spin this front line mutiny caused by psychotic generalship as some sort of heroic victorious celebratory loss, like they did with Dunkirk. -

Not a thing. Maybe there is no roaming, I dunno. I heard phones often keep working well behind enemy lines. 4G towers are reliable, they keep working until they are told not to.
I do know there is mad censorship on the Ukrainian internet though, like basically no Russian site like Yandex or VK works there without you using a VPN. My experience is all peacetime and pre-war though. -

You think there are differences between media outlets, but it's just the illusion of choice. -
