I have to go with ol gay ass macs and ubuntu. Windows is so fucking slow and gay and it fills up so fast. Macs have seamless transition between windows without loading. Just imagine using windows in 2021

    just imagine star wars

Do you use any adobe artsy shit on a mac?

I'm considering getting one just for it. Having ai and photoshop open at the same time kills my pc. Mac runs like mcdonald's butter

I imagine they'd run similarly well if both machines had the same specs, only the mac would cost significantly more

i'm pretty comfortable with the common linux systems like ubuntu, debian, fedora etc

out of these i probably like fedora the best, it was the first distro my father showed me when i was a young teenager and i've been using it the longest, it's a bit like arch in that the software is kept close to upstream but without the random system breaking changes, and as of about the past 10 versions the version updater actually seems reliable unlike ubuntu in my experience

biggest downside in terms of user experience is that it's cucked to US licensing and so you have to jump through some hoops to get media codecs and such installed

i don't really mess with desktop environments in an effort to seek comfort, just use and get used to what they give me by default, maybe i should since gnome is kinda faggy now but i can't be bothered to customise

qubes os is a good option if you need more security than a linux distro offers

haven't used a mac in years but i hear the OS is getting worse

hate windows but if i have to use it i can tolerate the ltsc version which is stripped down to half the install size and supposedly allows you to fully disable telemetry, i don't trust anything microsoft claims though because they're niggers and glow in the dark

Mac OS is faster for design. I think it has to do with the way they process images and text. If buying new and high end then yeah I'd get a pc, but the difference really becomes clear with lower end or older stuff. Especially when you have multiple adobe suite programs running. The difference is less clear with modern computers. Honestly though it used to be night and day like 10yrs ago.

If you're buying a computer for any other reason I'd say PC. But Macs are liquid fast for design and always have been. Right now my computer is slowing me down and it's not even that old.

windows tries to maintain a ridiculous level of backwards compatibility and its 30+ years of technical debt is very apparent when you try to do almost anything with it

most any modern OS will be faster by design

I use windows because I like to play video games. Some games I play can only be run on Wine, fuck that noise i'm not emulating a fucking C# game

Debian looks like windows but runs so much better. Is a little more involved than Ubuntu but is better for stacking shit and building on it

I'd say "Windows XP", but I honestly think that I'm equally as comfortable with Windows 10 at this point. Although Windows 10 is just Windows XP with all kinds of dumb shit added, I guess.

    Went from XP -> [Vista] -> 7 -> 8 -> 10.

7 was basically XP improved. 8 was gay, reminded me Vista [which I only experienced via my mom's laptop]. 10 reminds me a lot of 7, which reminded me a lot XP. But it's undeniably some weird hybrid abomination of 7 and 8. I'm as comfortable with 10 as I am XP (possibly by way of 7), but there are a bunch of gay "features" in 10 that I'm not familiar with and have no desire to be. I don't want a Windows app store. Fuck off, Microsoft.

i am too drunk to read this or understand it or both

Windows 10 confuses the hell out of me still. I can never fucking find anything. They should've just upgraded XP forever.

Windows 10 is basically just Windows XP, via Windows 7 and 8. It's not... great, but I've used it for so long that I'm as comfortable with it as I was XP (maybe slightly less, I could reg edit the Start menu to say "Hack!" when I was 1337 teen). IDK how you can be confused by it. It's straightforward as hell as long as you ignore all the extraneous dumb shit for normies like the app store.
