Nobody wants to ACTUALLY disband the police. Nobody thinks they're the enemy. They just want reform and the ability to protest peacefully without bullshit 6pm curfews or risking being attacked by police. Not a lot to ask for I think.

I dunno how widely-held these beliefs are but they have been released as an official statement from BLM and the 'autonomous zone':The Seattle Police Department and attached court system are beyond reform. We do not request reform, we demand abolition. We demand that the Seattle Council and the Mayor defund and abolish the Seattle Police Department and the attached Criminal Justice Apparatus. This means 100% of funding, including existing pensions for Seattle Police. At an equal level of priority we also demand that the city disallow the operations of ICE in the city of Seattle.

Now they can afford to jail everyone BECAUSE they jail everyone. The creation of police led to the public funding of law enforcement and this the militarization and industrialization.
Nobody saying to disband the cops is saying they dont want law and order. They want reform. Call them police or constables or watchmen or guards. Doesn't matter. Same shit different era. There's a better way to do this and it starts from the ground up.
Cops need to be re-trained. I've gone through more schooling than them and I can't even do shit with my degree. They're literally just thugs. Being physically capable is the only requirement. Like a bouncer or bodyguard. Srs Alabama i think is only 9 weeks of training. Fucking absurd. Most are just a couple months. And there's no certification either its literally just training like you'd get at McDonald's or any job.
Taxes should go towards stuff that actually helps people instead of creating a system that victimizes its citizens. And there should be a fucking certification process i mean my fuck. A bachelors degree of some sort at least. Psychological testing. We have teenager cops i mean what the shit.
