yeah, why would you want to be able to carry 1000 bullets in a small pouch that weighs about five pounds?

Are you going to keep it beside the pouch for your tampons? Why not just carry it in your purse or up your ass faggot?

    I got some!

Russian SKS, British Enfield, Chinese/American M14. Couple twenty twos. A flintlock. A single shot shotty.
Was out hunting with the enfield last year. I just got my reloading kit setup, so will be tinkering around with that while the country's shut down.

what is the ammo situation for the enfield like? i always wanted to try one. is the action as nice as they say?

Action's sweet. You pull back/up and push forward/down. Unlike most hunting rifles where you first push back, then push up. It's one fluid motion with the enfields. Nice and quiet too - my buddy was amazed at how quietly I chambered it compared to his modern hunting gun. Great truck hunting gun as it has the detachable magazine. There can be no ammo in the gun while it's in a vehicle here, so it's quick to jump out of the truck and load up.

My enfield ejects a bit weak, will have to try to tune it before my spring bear hunt. 303 is sold in all Canadian gun/ammo stores. Should be available in the USA - Winchester makes them in Super X. Surplus 303 is long gone, though I did score some at the gun club here a while back - some of the 1944 ammo batch was quite corroded but it fired.

Despite having the M14, I'm contiuning to hunt with the Enfield. The enfield is much lighter. It's safety doesn't make a loud snap when engaging/disengaging. With my handloaded ammo it's quite accurate too. Sporterized Enfields go for 200$ here in Canada.

    As for the smooth action,

i'm seeing 200 cartridges of .303 british for a little over 500 bucks, online. i can see why you'd load your own. have you figured out how much you're paying for a shot of your own reloads? from the sound of it, the brass will last you many loads. those mad minute drill things make me want one.

Ouch. Winchester Super X goes for 35$ canadian for a box of 20. You should be able to find it cheaper in the states. When reloading my own, I pay (In Canadian) about 40 cents for the bullet, 6 cents for the primer, 30 cents for the powder. The shells should last me 3 - 5 reloads I'm assuming.

I googled that for you. You're lucky we can't get this brand up north.

anyone ever worked with armstrong powder (from cap guns) as a primer?

I've heard it works, not sure about how reliably though

Here... full wood military ones go for 700 - 1200$
Sporter ones go for 150 - 350$ depending on condition.
Original military sniper No4s can fetch upwards of 10 thousand $$$.
I'd say about half the sporter ones here have scopes on them. Doesn't mean they'll stay zeroed. If you got good eyes you should be able to hit at 300 yards with ironsights anyhow - soldiers were trained to hit at 1000 yards with irons.
A good number where redone by parker hale. This would've added a scope mount, removed the stripper clip guide, and added a new stock. These are excellent rifles which'll put any new budget rifle to shame for less than the price.
Good magazines go for 100$ too. Half the price of the rifle.

If you like the aperture sights, get an No4. If you like the V sights, get an SMLE. In reality though, you'll want a bunch lined up infront of you and select the nicest one, regardless of model. Most of them have been through a lot.

You can only shoot one gun at a time.

But a .22 can do way more damage than a single larger bullet, ever hear of pinball? And it can get through armor larger rounds may not be able to.

    would if I could

additionally…there is more to a primer than just the compound itself. for one thing, there is a shaped piece of metal (generally a copper alloy) that allows efficient and reliable detonation (wrong word…but it sounds better) of the compound when its crushed between two layers of metal.

yeah I'm aware of the anvil and assume it's meant to channel the hot gases into the powder

I'm not talking about modern firearms design
