What was it like waking up without boobs?
Are you excited that the plastic surgeon can give you a matching pair this time?

My plastic surgeon WILL NOT do my reconstructive breast surgery unless I am smoke free for at least a month. Who TF is he?…….God?, I don’t think so. Who is he to decide which women can have reconstructive breast surgery after a mastectomy? “You’re a smoker? No boob for you!” I call BS. I’m quitting, and doing well, I just think that’s a load of shit.

What about women who can’t quit? What about a women who is so distressed by her cancer, that she can’t quit; she’s too stressed out to do it? “Sorry mam, you have to remain disfigured for life, because you smoke!”

Again I call BS. And trust me, I know what non smokers think of smokers. “They smoke, they must be weak, and dirty, and stinky; just disgusting.” That’s easy thinking to fall into, I’m sure the many doctors do.

I get the irony before ya’ll say anything. I should want to quit since I had cancer. Sure I’ve wanted to quit, but no one likes to be forced into anything.

Oh BTW, he’s going to piss test me 3 times before surgery.

Don’t think it’s right, but I get it. It’s all about blood flow. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, so it inhibits blood flow. Plastic surgery relies heavily on blood flow to rebuild the new tissue. I get it. I just feel bad for women who can’t do it.

At least you understand why. Could be worse, my mil needs surgery that they won't do until she's SIX months free of smoking.

100% fact: No woman alive has a naturally matching pair of tits. The left one is ALWAYS smaller.

I've been smoking three-quarters of a pack a day for 50 years and I'm fine.

I only woke up without one. How did it feel?.......Great to know they got all the cancer!!!! My labs reports were all good. We are reconstructing my left boobular, then when that’s done, could take up to 6 months, they’ll lift my right boob to match. I’m sure it won’t be perfect, idc. I just want some semblance of symmetry.

You wouldn’t believe all the measurements the surgeon took. Nipple to armpit, nipple to bottom of breast, nipple to neck; and there were a few others I can’t remember. Thing is I’ve lost so much weight, he’s probably gonna have to remeasure me again. I go in for my pre-op visit 9 days before surgery, he can remeasure then.

Not there yet. I’m just a uniboob right now. First reconstructive surgery Dec. 19th. I know it sucks being so close to Christmas, but this one is 100% free. I’ve met all my deductibles and coinsurances.

Noooo way. Yuk. I have a scar about 14 inches long across my chest and into my armpit. It’s healed nicely, but nothing I’d show.
