Yeah, it's this thread again. But it's 2016 and religion is tentatively cool again so who knows.
In the wierd half-hookup/half-dating thing with a girl at the moment, she really wants me to go to some whatever nondenominational church service with her. It's kinda awkward, I certainly don't "have a future" with her, I only floated the idea of a more serious relationship because it seemed like a courtesy and hookups have a tendency to dry up. Maybe it's just an easier way of saying she's not interested but it seems like she is, she just has some hangup about dating someone who doesn't go to church. I said straight out that I'm not going to find religion to get in her pants but she doesn't seem to actually care about any sort of genuine faith, if I just sit through a service now and then she'll be content, or so she says.
At first I was like "fuck that noise" but ehh, I've gone through more for less. I don't know, it's a stupid request and maybe a red flag but if I'm not in it for the long haul does it really matter? At least I can tolerate the christian aesthetic, an important part of my cultural heritage, as long as I don't have to do anything more than listen to a sermon it doesn't seem so bad. I think the biggest issue is I'd feel like a bit of an asshole going to a church where people are trying to be spiritual and shit for the sake of holding up a relationship I'm not really even serious about, but I guess they wouldn't know that so no harm no foul?

I used to go to church just to meet girls and it seemed worth the crazy speaking in tongues (yep I've seen this happen)
Its nice if the girl has some sort of moral base, I guess.
Nondenominational doesnt sound too bad, it might just be really boring. Tell her your religion is LSD and cocaine.

"Fuck that noise" is the correct answer to that but yeah... I've had to go to church for stupider reasons than getting pussy/dick. When I was 13 my dad held fast to the "fuck that noise" response (he said when he died, if the athestist weren't right, he was gonna shoot god in the face- often said to every christian that made it their duty to harass him about god) while I was forced to be drug along to church by my grandmother. I was in that Gothic phase (it REALLY pissed my mother off that I dressed the way I did which got me to cling to it in the first place) and I went armed with a satanic bible which was the source of many lulz. I baited many of these fuckers with the fact a friend of mine was a Satanist and when they would go about the atrocities in Satanism I'd pull that bitch out and offer to lend it to them so they could find out what was really inside rather than make up bullshit. They'd physically jump back like I pulled a king cobra from my backpack. Then I'd get on their ass about why if god and the bible are the only truth why they'd be so frightened of paper and ink. I was 13, didn't want to be there anyway, sleep deprived and drug against my will.. Do you blame me? (Southern Baptist church FYI). Got drug around to catholic, lutheran., seventh day adventist (nicest cult BTW), and many other christian churches all for the sake of my grandmother to "learn". Anyhow... No, I don't think you should have to rise early on a Sunday (or Saturday if its seventh day shit) and go listen to a sermon based on sandniggers who can't get along. If you must go... If this is A-1 pussay, Go to that church who supports marijuana use.. You can atleast get high while being forced to be there.

Tell her you are socialist non plus ultra and your God is the state. Honestly though as far as religion goes Christianity isn't that bad. But if you are not in it for the long haul why even drag it out? Also, don't be in it for the long haul just because you think she is pretty, what if at some point you decide to have children and she wants to go all religious upbringing on them? If that's the case, tell her it's child abuse to say to kids they will get eternal torture for being bad.

You already know in your heart. But for the sake of giving advice, just go with the flow, tread lightly, make sure you are comfortable with it all and don't forget your roots. It's not like you have to change the way you think about life or listen to what the church preaches, but then again if you're not going for the church and only going for the pussy there are other ways to get pussy. I think the best thing to do is have an honest conversation with this girl, find out why church is so important to her, what she gets out of it and what she expects it to do for you. Be honest with her and tell her what you think about it all. Then, of course, come back here and tell us all what you talked about.

Stopped going to church a long time ago. Found out a couple years ago that the pastor's daughter at the last church I went to had a crazy crush on me. She was a little older, maybe a little awkward, but she was hot. Never liked her dad, though. He spoke a little too much on giving for me. His family did drywall work, too. After he started preaching, he quit doing manual labor. Traded it for spiritual labor. That never sat right with me.
I wish I'd known she was down. I probably would have pulled a slick one a time or few.

In all seriousness I commend you for flat out saying you aren't going to feign being religious for a relationship/hookup. That's very admirable. I flat out lied and even bought faggish clothes trying to date a girl who was freakishly religious and it didn't even end up working but looks like your a few steps ahead of me on that.
The good thing you have going here(well, aside from a few other things) is that she isn't some virgin mary wannabe hardcore jesus freak.
My guess is she's pretty much asking you to go to pacify someone(parents?) or to metaphorically say "Oh yea Bae goes to church too".
My personal opinion is that you're not doing too much or breaking your back to show up at a sermon here or there. I'm curious as to why you don't see this being a long term thing are you two that much different or? Anyways good luck Bud I hope it works out for you regardless of how you wanna play it.
