But they are not recieving public funds to provide their service to the public. Twitter doesn't exist as a platform because the govt is paying to make it possible. If there's a completely private hospital, completely private contractor, then of course I wouldn't mind them refusing services. -

That's just an argument of semantics really. The government knew full-well what it was doing; the entire purpose of the tax restructuring was to make US companies more (internationally) competitive.
