    yes but in this context the aforementioned 'resistance' refers to the average resistance in a mic circuit.

    ie; in the kilo ohm range that sets the difference between something plugged in and not.

    Resistance refers to the concept of resistance. Not a particular application of it. The effect is the same whether applied through circuitry or the air.

    in electronics and electricals resistance could mean either resistence to the flow of current or to the effects of heat, and insulators to both are available.
