Where is the line between being a junkie and not?

Because the only thing that concerns them is getting as high as poss as often as poss. Often as poss being all the fucking time.

If you're gonna term the word junkie simply to anybody that uses heroin. Then pretty much everybody is a junkie. Pretty much everybody will have some form of treatment where diamorphine is used to treat the pain at some time in their life. That use of the term makes everybody a junkie.

They'd still use morphine which is as close. Many heroin addicts will get hold of plain morphine amps and use them. The only difference between morphine and diamorphine is diamorphine is double the potency meaning you only need use half the dose.

Diamorphine isn't heroin. Heroin is an illicit street drug.... dia is a regulated Pharmaceutical. Don't classify them together just cuz they're opiates. Do methamphetamines and amphetamines do the same shit? i think not...

I quoted the wrong thing this post was directed at narc...

Heroin is much more dangerous due to the fact it's simply unregulated and each batch could vary tremendously in Purity and quality and available adulterants and contaminants.

They're literally the same chemical though

Yes. But meth is seemingly pretty rare outside of NA. Most other countries have amp paste or speed paste, which is the same chemical as Adderall

The pharmaceutical version of meth is called "Desoxyn", they're the same chemical

Purity is the only difference between the pharmaceutical and illicit versions

I suppose alprazolam isn't the same as xanax then?

Narc your intelligence leaves a whole lot to be desired. that analogy is piss-poor and inaccurate. Juice Box you're missing my point. They may be the same chemical...but heroin could have other dirty adulterants and contaminants in it ...and you don't know how strong the dose is going to be. Diamorphine is legal, regulated and standardized. The active ingredients are going to be the exact same in every pill or dose... and there are not going to be adulterants and contaminants. Capeche?

so there's a difference... so they shouldn't be referred to in an interchangeable fashion, like narc proposed.

    Also...
even the same chemical can still be molecularly different... what about isomers? the spatial arrangement of the atoms in the molecules can be different. That means there can be potentially different perceived subjective effects that each user experiences.

They're both legal regulated standard Pharmaceuticals... Xanax is simply a trade name... a brand name. Alprazolam is the name of the chemical.

    Wrong

Morphine tablets contain at least sodium citrate and other bonding agents.

Oramorph will contain water, sugars and some other adulterants that make up that milky looking liquid. Thats certainly not a pure form of morphine.

Diamorphine amps contain water, citric acid and usually some anticoagulant of some type. Possibly other agents. Again not a pure form of diamorphine.

These are all adulterants, are they not?

Agreed that you can be more sure exactly what the adulterants are and even the exact ratios. But all this smoke and mirrors doesn't change my original point that to call somebody a junkie just for using heroin makes pretty much everybody a junkie.

I mean there are many addicts who get pharmaceutical amps and use them all the time. Would you not consider them a junkie or even a heroin addict? According to you its not the same.

apparently you don't know what the difference is between active and inactive ingredients. Do more homework before you come at me, bro. You just look foolish. Oh, now you're all of a sudden being sarcastic...once I provided the truth. Convenient.

I wasn't disputing anything about what makes a junkie a junky ...I was saying you should not have equated diamorphine to heroin. Thats all. Now you're trying to deflect and distract from my point. Do you want a meaningful discussion, or like usual are you just looking to troll?

    Active ingredient you say?

So what is the active ingredient in pharmaceutical heroin and what is the active ingredient in street heroin?
