3/4 people have shoplifted at least once.

I'm one of those 1/4 that prefers to do community service and actually help my community.

my preference is saving penguins and polar bears from global warming and excessive CO2 emissions.

Yup, who the fuck doesn't... They're practically begging for it with these self-checkout system, I pay for one small thing and just bring the other shit with it; too easy. Sometimes I just put something down my bag when there's an opportunity.

Not worth the risk to me anymore. Like it's the same charge getting caught stealing a candy bar and stealing a TV. Nothing I couldn't afford but also could feasibly steal is worth the potential repercussions. :/

Caught this one guy once who would buy a family-sized bag of chips and then walk around the store and surreptitiously drop tiny $50 items into the bag, then walk out with a few hundred in merch while eating chips. Clever, but not clever enough.

Also, must have been a small family if he carried the bag around.

Also were there more male of female shoplifters? That seems like one crime that would have a higher proportion of females than others.

    I NEED 'DEESE EAWWINGS, BITCHHH!!!

I don't know how these poverty girls I worked with afford hundreds of dollars of makeup and new clothes all the time, even cheap stuff.

Like what do I spend money on that they aren't spending money on that allows them to spend so much on things that I spend nothing on.

Also they complain of having like 40 dollars and overdrafting sometimes so I'm glad that doesn't happen to me.

I'd seen the guy a couple of times before that, from binoculars in the view-port in the sub ceiling, and he would pick up a small item and then it would disappear, although I never saw him reach for his pockets or anything. On the third time I said fuck it and went down and approached him outside and flipped my badge and grabbed the top of the bag and looked in. It had 5 or 6 items in there. He just said, "You got me."

About half and half. The women mostly grab the makeup and perfume and clothing, whereas the men mostly grab hardware and electronics and toiletry. I arrested just over 5,000 shoplifters in my entire tenure, and I found it to be mostly half and half.

With the women, it's usually (9 times out of 10) three or four girls who come in together and fill up while covering for one another, and that one other time it's an older lady loading up by herself.
