that is my thought in the event i have to buy a vehicle with one of those shit-show 'onstar'-esque systems where they constantly track your location and driving habits, along with every system function on your vehicle. the GPS system is so small its ridiculously difficult to find without the manufacturer service manual.

i was looking at a bike at a buy-here-pay-here place and if i financed through them they wanted to charge me $600 to have them install an always-on GPS transmitter (active...not passive)...so obviously i never went back to that place.

Haynes/Chilton repair manuals will cover that. Hell, these days you can probably YouTube it.

thats the decoy gps to trick less intelligent but critically minded individuals.

the real gps is hidden and will never be in the manuals.

they can still use the power outlet to communicate with the tv.

even if you use a battery powered isolated circuit to power it, they can still use the airwaves to communicate with the tv.

    theres no escape.

However, that isn't to say that a firmware "update" couldn't introduce such measures to ensure the cam/mic is always attached.

We can take certain measures to lessen the watch of "BIG BROTHER", but in an interconnected world, we're being "watched" somehow no matter what we're doing. When we use our grocery store member card, when we use public transit with some sort of transit program card, when we use our credit cards, when we browse websites online, just by owning a smartphone and the apps that have permissions to listen to the mics and activate the cameras, the shows that we watch on TV, etc.

You'd have to only work for pay in cash, only use cash, not have a bank account, no credit card, no smartphone, no computer or internet, no grocery discount/member card, no public transport pass/card, etc. Live in the woods, generating your own electricity by solar panels you installed to the roof, your own well you dug and tapped with a pump, and grow your own vegetables/manage your own livestock. Then you never see your family, go into town for supplies with a disguise on each time and never on a schedule. That's the only way you could even begin to touch on being truly anonymous.

i been saying for years that the best defense against those spying on you is to be aware and then deliberately feed them false info as often as possible. if everybody did this it would be such a huge task to sort the good and bad info that it would make the whole exercise impossible to be used to any practical degree. literally all the info they collected would be useless.

there is nothing stopping them putting cell phone technology inside that would allow the info to upload on a special account or frequency even when the unit wasn't connected to the internet.
