I've got an old gravity locking blade knife that was my grandfather's. It's a Shapleigh brand with ebony (?) wood and a silver diamond inlay. I palmed it once when I got arrested for underage beer possession as a teenager. I didn't want to risk losing it.
I still have it. The knife is probably approaching a century old.

I do want an OTF knife (same concept but spring loaded) but they're illegal here for some retarded reason so I'd have to get someone to disassemble it and send the blade and scales separately

You have no clue what is legal. You are a product of Clowniefornia. In my state and several more including Florida you can carry a fucking claymore if you wish. And you want to conceal under a trench coat ala Highlander have at it.
