Why is Trump trying to intentionally fuck up relations with North Korea?

I truly believe his retardation is just an act and always has been. This is not a very common belief in non-Trump supporters, but if you look at past interviews and stuff you can see he is clearly intelligent and at least HAD the capacity to give a well structured speech.
So if he's not just doing this by accident, why is he doing it? What does Trump have to gain from insulting North Korea by comparing them to Libya and by backing out of the meeting? Now it looks like Xi is going to hold something. All he's done is take America out of the place of power it had by holding these discussions.
Some people believe he did this because he WANTS another Libya situation in Korea. It would be economically beneficial to him. Make them give up the nukes and storm in. But why the FUCK would anybody think this could actually work? China would not stand for a war in their backyard. Nor would Korea. The whole world would basically be against this. Fucking around in the sandbox is different and if Trump wants more war he should go help the Saudis kill Yeminites or something.
So can anybody explain to me what's going on? Is he just retarded or is there some possible logic to be found here? -

That seems like such an EASY explanation though. 90's Trump seemed to have a very good grasp of geopolitical issues. Where did it all go?
In his book he apparently talked extensively about putting on an act to reach goals. Ever since hearing that, I cannot help but think about it. There really do seem to be two sides of him. -

The fact of the matter is that the US has never been willing to negotiate or consider NK's concerns, only make demands.
Kim made significant concessions likely at the behest of Xi Jinpeng, US demands full disarmament and won't even halt the provocative 'military exercises' and calls off meeting when Kim points out he's the only one seemingly willing to negotiate. -

Trump had nothing to do with NK making those concessions. -

Despite the imputed Iranian reliance on NK for ballistic technology.
Once NK disarms Iran will do likewise. They will switch to a more effective, political means of warning the world about the jedis. Bombing us would just have made us more determined. Pointing out where the jedis have exploited us, both offering up our destructive capability, and presenting us on the altar of sacrifice, will be much more effective. -

War in NK would be such a tremendously bad idea. Like I said, nobody would stand for it. China does not want to deal with that shit. It sounds like the start of ww3. I don't think even Trump actually believes it'd work.
So why isn't he just going with it like any previous president would've? Why is he intentionally fucking up such high stakes negotiations? He's effectively taken away power from the US.
