shows how much you dont understand PPP.

i got a less than 5 dollar clamp amp meter from the same factory, aneng, and its pretty accurate and enough o fulfill my needs.

the reason i need to get another one was because i cheaped out for a few dime less without reading too much about the spec and the one i got have a resolution of 1 volt.

so yea, need another one with at lease one decimal resolution.

if you want to get a real feel just put the wires on your tongue

that's how I used to tell whether it was worth keeping 9v batteries when I was a kid
  5. i bought a 240v warm white led light bulb thinking i can mod it into my bike because warm white led head lights are pretty hard to source thinking the leds in it are low voltages leds that are compatible with 12v.

to my surprise the transformer in it is actually a step up transformer that turn 240v AC into something like 260v DC.

    how could this be.

now i need to check individual smd leds to see their actual working voltage.

you don't need that kind of voltage for any LED I know of, usually you use that + ballast for gas tubes that need a spark to get started

    oh

unless that's one of those LED bulbs meant to go in a car's headlamp socket, like a stick with 20 or so high output LEDs

I don't really know anything about them but I imagine they need a lot of power to run constantly

just quickly looking it up those are referred to as 'corn lightbulbs' because each of those LEDs is a 'COB' LED, meaning Chip OnBoard, meaning the LED does its own voltage regulation

they probably need about 3v each

i measured the output that goes directly to the entire strip of leds and it measured about 260+ volts.

not sure if the leds are linked serially or how.

    need to test individual led.
  12. this is the exact thing i got.

  14. 1w cree leds. paid like +- 50 cents for 10 of them.

not as bright as the 3w ones but theyre too cheap to ignore. my plan is to fit as many of them as possible into a vintage, all metal torchlight and a 18386 or whatever those 3.7v li-on batteries are called.

i'll be using old, unused and hardened silicon sealant as the battery holder by cutting it to size and carve a little hole in it.

  16. Thinking about going buying a 2TB SSD from microcenter at lunch and sticking Windows 11 on it for my main PC. Currently have Windows 10 and the upgrade keeps failing because of an issue to do with how the partitions are laid out or some shit...I researched it last time I tried and the solution was to basically do a fresh install.

...that's a royal pain in the ass when you have everything "Just nice"...if I'm going to do that I might and well stick it on one of these.

I call it matchstick "art". Since seeing loads of it being made in jail..I'm sort of obsessed with it.

You can't say time and effort hasn't gone into that?
