I bought this in mid-2015. I wanted a Mac for the software, but it's held up very well for everything I do. Anytime it gets a little bit slow or starts to glitch, I just reinstall the OS and it's like new. The only downside is that, because of the overall size and the hard drive, it's pretty heavy. As a result, I don't take it away from home often.

Similar setup here, mid-2015 model with SSD only. I like this thing a lot, I'd fucked it up bad about a year ago and payed almost the price of a new MBP to repair it because I'm avoiding the touch-bar meme and butterfly switches like the fucking plague. Keyboard is a huge thing for me, I'm not in love with the keys (I use a mechanical board with two thunderbolt displays whenever I'm at home) but it's a hell of a lot better than the butterfly setup. Escape key being a soft key is fucking cancer too. As far as I can tell apple is never going to pull their heads out of their asses on this one and I'm not switching to a thinkpad so this thing has to to last me... the rest of my life I guess? It's a champ tho, 3 years isn't that long but in that time I've yet to need to close something to get something else to run at full speed which is my metric for being perfect. I love that I can work on something and just leave it in the background and pick it up again when I feel like it, I don't think I've closed chrome in over a month.
