If you talk to any military enthusiast, they'll know instantly what a full power cartridge is, an intermediate cartridge, and the difference between an assault rifle and a battle rifle. Generally a full power rifle cartridge is considered powerful enough to take down a human or a deer with one shot. You don't go hunting deer hunting with a .223. If you do, you better make sure you hit a vital else you're killing unethically.
