I'm curious though, do you consider that an accurate analysis or are you just going for what you think I would least want people to hear about me? Specifically the gay/gender confused thing is something easy to pin on me but doesn't seem like something you could get out of an honest assessment. Also "drowning out negative thoughts" or rather sublimating them into productive behaviors is almost the hallmark of mental health in some models. I think Freud has a lot of problems but one thing I think he should be commended for is the acknowledgement of natural but unacceptable impulses and our agency in assenting to them.
P.S. I've seen a lot of pretty sentiment generated around western interpretations of buddhism but I can't help but feel like, at very best, it's like taking Aquinas and using him as a representative of Christianity, and at worst really bad revisionism. The lived buddhist tradition isn't half so amenable to these intellectual fettishisations. I was in Japan recently, went to see Senso-ji, famous buddhist temple. As you approach the temple from any direction there are like a solid two blocks of shops selling souvenirs, everything you could think of, some of it vaguely branded with something buddhist but most of it not. The temple itself collects donations and is sprawling for something built in Tokyo, frankly opulent in its size. I contrast between the mercantile, opportunistic attitude embodied by the buddhism there and the pretty ascetic vaguely phenomenological tradition that's presented is like night and day. -

Although impersonating a girl for years... People certainly go through great lengths to troll, but to keep it up for years, knowing the implications (unless you do or did have a deficit, delayed development of theory of mind as most autists do, particularly considering your general intelligence). That is, how women are treated differently (girl on the internet syndrome, the worse the ratio and the lower the average IQ, the worse the effect). You should have known that with that factor, the lonely eccentrics, outcasts, how you compared when contrasted with the vapidity of the typical female online; people could have developed strong feelings, some which never told you, and been hurt. Unless you can rationalize that pain, see them as deserving it, or simply didn’t care because it was fun (you did say that at one view you had a quasi-Randian viewpoint (selfishness) and felt nothing could convince you otherwise).
I don’t care about the Buddhist tradition; there are many traditions, interpretations, schools. I’m talking about getting as straight to the source as possible. I think be may have been on to something, and afaik it’s the only religion (arguable as to whether it is depending on the interpretation) worth studying, that may contain the best advice for reducing suffering as much as possible, without medication.
Also, it’s not as if he was aware of the concept of the singularity or could foretell all philosophies that we’re to come. It’s really only my thoughts on the path to true liberation that would be particularly controversial.
But, going further with my idea of anti-natalist AI, what if their goal was actually an attempt to stop the cycle of the universe (is the big bag >crunch cycle or something that leads to the same effect still the leading theory of what ultimately occurs? I never kept up.) I wonder if they found a way to record data as it’s been speculated that inter-dimensional communication could be possible via gravitons. It would be cool if we had s sort of tome of universal history and knew how many attempts there had been and what types. But I can already see problems with this idea.
We may as well be discussing a sci-fi novel/series, though. -

lol, his post do have a sort of vibe of self advocacy that is soaked in a high percentage of arrogance. I don't think that his information is false or "boring"per say but I'd be lying if I said I have read more than like 3 posts of his in their entirety. It's not you Malice, It's just that like §m£ÂgØL said, I come here for laughs and time killing banter between strangers, not to engorge an encyclopedia's wroth amount of information that's main topic is probably something I have never heard of. Plus, Come to think of of, I always just assume you know what you're talking about and have never question your information posted here on various topics. But seeing that you were so far off base regarding what you said in the visitor message on my profile about my boyfriend and I have come to the conclusion that perhaps many of your other posts are also lies based on 4 hand gossip that nobody has questioned you about because nobody bothers reading through the entirety of any of your posts.... -

Pretty fucked up, cos in my small town we don't have gun crime, ya know cos this is England, and gun crime is reserved for inner city gangs. But everytime there's a murder in my town, it's always just fucked up enough to make it onto the national news. I wouldn't be surprised if it's made it onto some American news stations, I know it's been reported on in Australia.
