Well it's true that military service is one of the best economic opportunities for lower class high school graduates. But the social hierarchy is bigger than that group. Those benefits are a joke to your typical Cal student. I'm not saying they earned it, I'm not saying it should be that way, I'm not saying everyone needs to go to college. I'm just saying in america today soldiers are at the bottom of our society, the risk/reward for their occupation is atrociously poorer than someone attending an elite university. -
