PMU sources are reporting that Qassem Soleimani was one of the passengers killed in Mohammed Redha Al-Jabri's car.
If true this is enormous - there will be no stopping what's coming. -
2020-01-03 at 2:24 AM UTCPress TV has confirmed Soleimani's death.

2020-01-03 at 3:17 AM UTCthat was Turnip more or less confirming that he ordered the assassination of Soleimani
I'm still not certain he actually did and isn't just rubber-stamping it after the fact -

US Marines also reportedly captured two other influential Iraqi militia figures around the time of the strikes – Qais Khazali, head of the paramilitary group Asaib Ahl al-Haq, and Badr Organization leader Hadi al-Amiri – in a neighborhood of Baghdad, according to Al Arabiya.
PS - this has been confirmed as false. -
2020-01-03 at 3:31 AM UTCSounds like he was targeted by the US intentionally.
Pentagon confirming.
There will be retaliation I’m sure. Get ready boys. Dumb asses. Pompeo had to be a big part of this. -

Yup. Iran's been trying to avoid direct military conflict and has been playing the long game instead, but I cannot imagine they'll let this slide. Soleimani was not just an Iranian General, he was seen as a hero in much of the Middle East. -
2020-01-03 at 3:39 AM UTCYeah they said he oversees a couple of these smaller factions as well.
He sounds like a folk hero to Iranians.
It’s coming, don’t know when or where, but it’s coming. -
2020-01-03 at 4:02 AM UTCThey could retaliate anywhere we have forces in the world. I know you all know this, I’m just thinking out loud.

Was just going to say that Iraqi parliament is in session, they're voting on whether to withdraw permission for US military to stay, currently sitting at 140/165 required votes. Large groups, specifically Sunni and Kurds are being pressured into boycotting or abstaining from the vote -

The US military is probably important for Iraq's economy too. All those contracts. -
