even stoned off my ass, potential employers know your shit is together by having the pre-reqs required to even apply for such a position. -

New breathalyzer can detect marijuana
Date:
August 27, 2019
Source:
University of Pittsburgh
Summary:
A team has developed a breathalyzer device that can measure the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in marijuana, in the user's breath. The breathalyzer was developed using carbon nanotubes, tiny tubes of carbon 100,000 times smaller than a human hair. Nanotechnology sensors can detect THC at levels comparable to or better than mass spectrometry, which is considered the gold standard for THC detection.
sauce: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/08/190827123239.htm"We used machine learning to 'teach' the breathalyzer to recognize the presence of THC based on the electrical currents recovery time, even when there are other substances, like alcohol, present in the breath."
they used machine learning to detect THC, ie. they don't really know the methodology used to detect it, ie. it could potentially trigger false positives (or false negatives) based on unknown factors. At best it's a proof of concept; I'd hold off on thinking it's going to be a new standard -
2020-01-01 at 10:45 PM UTCthat's much like blowing over the legal alcohol limit while being on cough syrup.
and that is easily debunked in court. -

here they always ask if you've had anything to drink within the last 15 minutes and have you wait it out and retest if you say yes - if you've been drinking enough cough syrup to have a high testable BAC after that time, you definitely should not be driving -
2020-01-01 at 10:57 PM UTCI've taken cough syrup at work a lot they never expect Bundy! Also it's legal
But very frowned upon -

we are talking 30 years ago, Tech - stl would be able to confirm this, but in the 1990's and before, police would follow you home and not give you a ticket.
the police motto is: to protect and serve.
now, a cop is about fucking you over.
it's a damn shame. -

2020-01-02 at 4:17 AM UTCOne of my favorite work trips was when I took a box of CCC's and my immigrant co worker that was chill with me for months suddenly had violent mood swings that day. He got me involved in HR drama because I made a joke saying I was supervising this department.
We always made the joke when you stand around doing nothing and say "Ahh yes I am just supervising this department" and he fucking went to HR and said I was trying to order him around saying "i was the boss" even though HE STARTED THE JOKE MONTHS AGO
and the HR lady Fiona thought I was lying to her because I was sweating a lot and "looked really nervous and was acting weird" but I was just high as fuck and could not process anything. -

in the fields like Tech, myself, and others, you get a hard copy of your job offer that typically includes salary, benefits, start date, and whatever the company uses to sell themselves.
with this hard copy, that is a legal tender.
now, if a company gives you an offer with such a hard copy, they have to be specific in their reasoning to refuse employment, because this hard copy proves they only had good thoughts about you before knowing you would fail a piss test.
you know judges and lawyers are awaiting this cash cow when companies can finally be sued over breaking this law!!
Unfortunately you don't live in the real world granps. If you knew what i do for a living (both jobs) and what i take in, youd change your attitude and more than likely be asking me for financial advice on how i got to where i am in such a short time.
What types of hiring have you done? -
