I just heard this......cool.

2020-01-01 at 2:59 PM UTCMost probably know weed is legal in Nevada; but, as of today, employers cannot deny employment to anyone who tests positive for marijuana.
I figured that was coming. Sounds like they’re treating it like alcohol. -
2020-01-01 at 3:47 PM UTCbout time ,, here in Vt they won't give us dispensaries because the havent figgured out how to convict us for driving high
-
2020-01-01 at 3:51 PM UTCThere's a new Breathalyzer out now that can detect marijuana.
New breathalyzer can detect marijuana
Date:
August 27, 2019
Source:
University of Pittsburgh
Summary:
A team has developed a breathalyzer device that can measure the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in marijuana, in the user's breath. The breathalyzer was developed using carbon nanotubes, tiny tubes of carbon 100,000 times smaller than a human hair. Nanotechnology sensors can detect THC at levels comparable to or better than mass spectrometry, which is considered the gold standard for THC detection.

2020-01-01 at 4:07 PM UTCI’ll bet there are some loopholes that businesses are using.
-
2020-01-01 at 4:12 PM UTCThey'd just get rid of you for something else. Like if you're one minute late coming back from a scheduled break. I've seen it before, many times. It's not hard.

if a company, running on the L.E.A.N. Manufacturing process, to which the majority of companies run on, happens by chance to get a resume' that is off the charts in terms of experience-knowledge-responsibility, these companies really don't care what you do on YOUR OWN time.
a law, such as this one passed in Nevada, really is a break many have been looking for.
i have a couple buddies who posses equivalent skill sets. several companies have jumped on his resume' and had him for interviews. even offered him the job right on the spot. but due to the state-company policy had to reject his employment and were very saddened to do so.

that can now be ratified, because smoking hemp is the least effective drug, in terms of causing anyone to react in a mannerism that is ultimately an altered state of themselves. -
2020-01-01 at 4:30 PM UTCbeing stoned is nowhere the same as being inebriated, and alcohol is legal like hemp is legal.
that is the real kicker, the 30 days for hemp to leave your system is nowhere dangerous as the 8 hours waiting for alcohol to exit your system. -
2020-01-01 at 4:31 PM UTCWho cares what you do in the privacy of your home as long as you aren't going to work fucked up. Also going to work fucked up is no big deal people need to calm the fuck down working sober doesn't make you special okay
-
2020-01-01 at 4:34 PM UTCin machining, i would never want to be drunk or stoned when your tooling can move as fast 6000 rpms. but after dealing with machines that haul ass all day, i don't see how smoking a bowl at HOME is more harmful than having a few beers and then driving home.

2020-01-01 at 4:34 PM UTCI've worked lots of high level corporate jobs, and none of my operations managers ever had a problem with smoking weed on the clock. Time Warner Business Class, AT&T, Charter, Roadrunner... none of them cared, as long as the performance metrics were coming in steadily at 95% and above at all times. I had one national operations boss say to me, "damn, I wish I could do that on the job", and I said, "well, maybe one day you can".

2020-01-01 at 4:42 PM UTCI was very clearly abusing amphetamines at work and my bosses responded by giving me more responsibility those absolute mad lads.
At the same time though there is nothing more professional than a 20 year old dude going to work every day high on meth at least I was being productive
I bet they thought I was cool as fuck and the reason I got called into hr was because she had the hots for me and wanted to snort lines of tek off my dick instead of writing me up for going too fast
Probably just too shy to ask it's hard to break the mould of corporate culture I could see it in her eyes though. If I would have pulled out my dick and snorted a line of meth off her desk it would have gone down
I was trying to be professional though -

lol women...again. you actually think theyll say " durrr u didnt get the job cuz you tested positive for thc"
Theyll say " you didnt qualify " after you take the drug test and come back positive. You dont think theyll have several other candidates that have clean urine or what?
Which one are you choosing if you are an employer? -

that's because the jobs you have ever had are minimum wage jobs.
in the fields like Tech, myself, and others, you get a hard copy of your job offer that typically includes salary, benefits, start date, and whatever the company uses to sell themselves.
with this hard copy, that is a legal tender.
now, if a company gives you an offer with such a hard copy, they have to be specific in their reasoning to refuse employment, because this hard copy proves they only had good thoughts about you before knowing you would fail a piss test.
you know judges and lawyers are awaiting this cash cow when companies can finally be sued over breaking this law!! -
2020-01-01 at 6:06 PM UTConce states like colorado made hemp legal, 18 more states followed.
now that nevada has made this newer law legal, those legal hemp states are sure to follow.
this is going to be fun watching these companies re-infrastructure their policies to keep within the law hahahahahahahahaha -
2020-01-01 at 6:08 PM UTCcause there is someone right now, who has the skills most everyone wants and needs, smoking a bowl, thinking to themselves, i am gonna bend these bitches over and get my ass a couple settlements :)
-
2020-01-01 at 6:16 PM UTCand this should also end the "random drug" policies!!

2020-01-01 at 6:18 PM UTChow can a company give employment to someone who pissed dirty and then impose onto another employee already working to take a random?
i see the lawsuits amounting.
this is a policy that the EAST needs cause this policy will tell a UNION SHOP to go fuck themselves sideways and it removes union power hahahahahahaha let it happen!!
