Firestick you can get kodi which is why I bought, dunno aboit roku
You cannot use Kodi on a Roku and there's no way to modify them into running it, believe me I've tried.
Running Kodi on a Chrome browser either via PC or Android and casting it to a TV with a Chromecast also works well, it's not bad at all with just a simple smart phone and basically seamless with a decent PC.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

They finally made an app for xobox one a while ago and I can't remember if it worked it for me or not. If it did it's probably way faster than firestick -
