I believe the concept behind that is people who are already suicidal but too depressed and numb to even give a shit about going through with it, tend to get a lift after starting to take anti-depressants and though the suicidal tendencies are still existant, they have a bit more life and energy and basically gain the motivation to think about suicide more and realistically contemplate going through with it. That's my understanding anyway.

normally when I slice myself up I stop at some point but when I was on Mirtazapine I just kept cutting until the bleeding didn't stop and I needed stitches it was fucked up like I was in a trance

SSRIs make you feel a little bit crazy, like what's going on isn't real. When I started 9n them I quit my job and didn't give a shit (a good move). It doesn't surprise me that they are linked to school shootings and the like, in fact I think it's amazing such things aren't way more common.
