I’m pretty proud of myself, I’m on day 6, and no nicotine withdrawals, after 30 yrs of smoking. Go figure. But that’s not completely my reason for this thread.
My plastic surgeon WILL NOT do my reconstructive breast surgery unless I am smoke free for at least a month. Who TF is he?.......God?, I don’t think so. Who is he to decide which women can have reconstructive breast surgery after a mastectomy? “You’re a smoker? No boob for you!” I call BS. I’m quitting, and doing well, I just think that’s a load of shit.
What about women who can’t quit? What about a women who is so distressed by her cancer, that she can’t quit; she’s too stressed out to do it? “Sorry mam, you have to remain disfigured for life, because you smoke!”
Again I call BS. And trust me, I know what non smokers think of smokers. “They smoke, they must be weak, and dirty, and stinky; just disgusting.” That’s easy thinking to fall into, I’m sure the many doctors do.
I get the irony before ya’ll say anything. I should want to quit since I had cancer. Sure I’ve wanted to quit, but no one likes to be forced into anything.
Oh BTW, he’s going to piss test me 3 times before surgery.
Don’t think it’s right, but I get it. It’s all about blood flow. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, so it inhibits blood flow. Plastic surgery relies heavily on blood flow to rebuild the new tissue. I get it. I just feel bad for women who can’t do it.

I’ve actually gotten healthy here lately. I used to drink 6-8 diet cokes a day, now I’m down to 2 and have stayed at that for over 2 months. I’ve also lost 22 lbs, with more to go. I want my skinny body back with my new bewbs. Andddd, finally I’ve quit smoking. I refuse to gain weight from quitting smoking. Weight gain is what has stopped me from quitting, but I got this👍🏻

Why didn't you just lie to the senseless tyrant and keep on smoking?

Back in the city. Taking tomorrow off, and training on Wednesday and Thursday, so only a 2 day week.

I knew a girl who didn't want to quit smoking while pregnant because she said the nicotine withdrawal would be too much strain on the baby.
