They were probably hoping that the kid WOULD fall down the stairs and just wanted to capture it on film to watch out of morbid pleasure many times into the future. They're probably disappointed and sadly taking it out on the cat instead of the babby. :(

As far as dissociatives go i prefer ethyl ether. Not that i do inhalents on the regular, but in this case i'd buy some ethyl ether over a bottle of bundy. 100ml is like 1 buck at least where i live.
