"gadolinium deposition disease" in google search results:
Chuck and Gena Norris are suing manufacturers and distributors of a contrast agent used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for ill effects on Gena’s health.

Gadolinium is toxic. To reduce the toxicity, gadolinium has been coated, actually linked, to another chemical to protect the body from its effects. These linking compounds (technically chelators) come in two forms, one is linear and the other more spherical. The latter covers the gadolinium more effectively than the older linear version. These compounds are referred to as Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents (GBCAs).

At the same time, there was increasing evidence that the chelating compounds were not as effective as was anticipated.
    A 1998 study showed 25% of the gadolinium was not recovered in patient’s urine;
a 2005 survey found gadolinium in some patients' bones and a 2014 study showed continued presence of gadolinium in patient’s brain tissue. The hallmark study, Gadolinium in Humans: A Family of Disorders, was published in 2016 in the American Journal of Radiology. It describes a spectrum of conditions characterized by retention of gadolinium, from asymptomatic patients (Gadolinium Storage Condition) to symptomatic patients (Gadolinium Deposition Disease) to patients with NSF.

“Gadolinium deposition disease” is the name we propose for a disease process observed in subjects with normal or near normal renal function who develop persistent symptoms that arise hours to 2 months after the administration of GBCA. In these cases, no preexistent disease or subsequently developed disease of an alternate known process is present to account for the symptoms.”
“The causal relationship has not been fully established, but it is under investigation. The aforementioned MRI gadolinium-toxicity support group has reported symptoms that they considered to be consistent with the known toxic effects of gadolinium.”

All of this information has been presented to both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). These regulatory bodies have taken slightly different approaches. The EMA has stopped the use of GBCA protected by those linear chelating agents, that seem to do a poorer job of shielding patients from the admittedly toxic Gadolinium; they have left the use of Gadolinium protected by those macrocyclic chelators in place. The FDA merely has issued a warning about the continued use of those agents. Neither agency has determined that Gadolinium results in GDD.

Best part of that is, gadolinium by itself can be quite toxic. And the fact that it's not being entirely removed from the body in urine is reason enough to suspect it could cause problems, even without all these studies on it. For you to say it has few to no side effects is just plain false. You are lying or you do not understand this stuff at all. I'd suspect you just don't understand it. You didn't seem to know there were any lawsuits. That's the reason some labs stopped automatically using it. They would often scan with a contrasting agent automatically, and gadolinium with chelating agents would be the first choice because it's effective. They stopped doing this.

You work with x ray machines for fuck sake. Stop acting like you know anything about MRI machines and the contrasting agents they use. You want to hurl insults the way a monkey flings poop, go ahead, but don't act like you're a scientist. If you were a scientist, you wouldn't claim it's perfectly safe based on your own experiences with it.

We have been presented with several hypotheses about gadolinium:
    1. Gadolinium is safe.
    2. Gadolinium clears the body of patients with normal kidney function within a short time.
    3. Gadolinium left behind in the body of patients (stored gadolinium syndrome) is safe.
    4. Only patients with poor kidney function are at risk of Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis.

FACT: Medical science outside the USA discovered that gadolinium causes Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis. This disease always result in death. There is no cure. There is no treatment. It is a SLOW tortuous way to die created by human beings.
THEREFORE: Hypothesis number 1 is proven wrong.

FACT: The FDA published proof that gadolinium is stored in the bodies, brain, skin, and bones of every single patient who is injected regardless of kidney function.
THEREFORE: Hypothesis number 2 is proven wrong.

There is no reason for patients to trust hypothesis numbers 3 and 4 in light of the failure of the profession regarding hypothesis numbers 1 and 2. The evidence is clear that medicine is failing to put patient safety first and foremost. There is valid reason for patients to question the validity of assurances regarding gadolinium.

We have several decades of use of these dangerous heavy metals. Please direct us to actual long term follow up studies of actual patient’s reports of side effects for all years of gadolinium’s use. Prove that over the nearly 30 years of use, there are no dangerous side effects, no known deaths in patients with good kidney function, no known negative consequences that would be considered unacceptable to patients. Everything else is anecdotal evidence. If the industry is allowed to provide anecdotal evidence, then the public gets to submit evidence at that same standard.

More and more patients are realizing that the medical profession has failed to properly access risks. Informed patients are saying NO MORE.

    Dumbass.

November 9, 2018 – Is gadolinium deposition disease (GDD) really a disease? Italian researchers aren't so sure after they studied patients who received gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) for MRI scans. They reported their findings in a study published online October 30 in Investigative Radiology.

Do you want to be owned some more? I could go on and on, and you can bury your head in the sand and pretend you're right while defending child abusers. Wanna do the retard dance some more?

OBJECTIVE. The literature informs us that gadolinium can cause health issues. At least four major gadolinium disorders, including the two well-recognized nephrogenic systemic fibrosis and severe acute adverse event, have been identified.

CONCLUSION. We propose naming the histopathologically proven presence of gadolinium in brain tissue “gadolinium storage condition,” and we describe a new entity that represents symptomatic deposition of gadolinium in individuals with normal renal function, for which we propose the designation “gadolinium deposition disease.”

Listen freak of nature, I never claimed to know everything there is to know about MRI, but I most definitely know the concept involved in imaging with magnets.

Of course there are problems with any drug, with certain people. Never said there wasn’t. But gadolinium is considered relatively safe, or they wouldn’t use it to this day. When a person is screened for an MRI their kidney function IS taken into consideration. Normal kidney function will excrete the gadolinium and lessen any toxic effects. You talk about gadolinium being toxic, well duhhh, that’s why it’s bonded with other atoms to improve osmolality.

Now, you have repeatedly stated that they have quit using gadolinium in some MRI suites. I’m asking you to prove to me where they have stopped using it, because you can’t. All your other copy and paste is just useless info I never asked for. Glad you learned something today.

That's a cute way of almost admitting that you're full of shit. My proof? No proof is ever good enough for people like you, you argue just for the sake of arguing and then go hide after hurling insults when you're proven wrong. Nobody should take any advice from you because you are dangerously stupid and you could get people hurt or killed.

But I have had an MRI done, and if you actually knew about the lawsuits, you'd know they stopped automatically using the contrast agent.

I know you have ADHD and probably brain fog from the contrasting agent, but try to read everything I pasted for you instead of just running and hiding like you did with the JAMA study. You claimed my source must've been "shady" because you're an idiot that doesn't do your research before arguing.

Again, you've lost. I have won this. Not that it's anything to be proud of, arguing with an idiot like you and winning isn't much of an accomplishment.

Oh, what did you win? The internet? Yay you.

Now prove to me that some MRI suite somewhere stopped using gadolinium. That’s all I wanted to know to begin with C&P master.

Sadly, low IQ people like you get into fields you have no business being in. No more spoon feeding for you. You said you were going to skip over all my posts, but you have some weird obsesssion with me and you can't commit to it. If you weren't such a goddamn stupid low IQ retarded moron, you would not request proof of something so obvious. Make some phone calls you idiot.

Still can’t prove that they stopped using gadolinium in any MRI suite, anywhere, huh? You stated, it prove it! You can’t.

You are a living meme like G said.

So are you done with home school for the morning? Mommy always has you in bed by 9:00. Gotta get your rest for class

I would've had to as well, but by the time I got there, they had stopped automatically using a contrasting agent due to lawsuits. An MRI doesn't require a contrasting agent, but like I said, it's less effective without one. That's why Technologist is a run of the mill retard, she has no common sense.

Yet you're still unable to provide a single fucking source.

What is it with you right-wingers and totally avoiding to provide sources when pressured?

I actually think they said something like that they could still do the scan if I didn't sign the form, but it wouldn't be as effective. I wasn't really paying attention.

With MRI there’s a screening form for any metallic foreign bodies in your body, and kidney function. You would have to sign that.

Contrast use for an MRI is at the radiologist’s discretion. Certain exams DO NOT require contrast, some do, it depends on what they’re looking for. A lot of times they will do their scans, show the radiologist the images, then they decide if contrast is needed to visualize what they’re looking for. It’s been that way for a long time.
