I've never heard of anyone doing it before.
That's one law acceptable to break. It seems criminal to ban fishing. We used to fish in the Oakland Esturary and San Leandro river.
A fine was 150 bucks back then. Early as 80 s -

2019-09-25 at 2:54 AM UTCI'm an avid angler. Last summer I went to some falls near here and hooked two consecutive 15-20 pound Muskies almost right off the bat. I also fish for lake trout and have a lot of experience with that. Left my line out one night and ended up with a 22-pound catfish. I've caught just about every fish there is over the years. Bass, pickerel, pike, whitefish, trout, pretty well every northern fish there is.

Ever jumped in to save your pole you left unattended or even deeper a catfish in just enough to dive over board and pull the fat fuck chomping on your fingers?
I don't swim as well as I did as a kid.. But I might do that. -

In all the years I've been fishing, I've never left my rod unattended, except that one time with the 22-pound catfish.
Best fishing I've found is out on the deep lakes in Northern Quebec, 200-300 feet down, with a map of the bottom to guide, steel line with depth balls embedded into it, gang troll on the line with 20 spinners on it and a live minnow on the end. Troll right along the bottom nice and steady with a small boat and electric motor for stealth. Schools of trout see those spinners from far off. Once you hit the school, keep making passes over it and pull in trout after trout after trout rapid fire. Once the hits stop, they're close by, not hard to find the school again. Up to 40-50 pound lake trout. Clean as clean can be. -
2019-09-25 at 5:03 AM UTCfishing is phillosophically the same as child mollesting.
baiting helpless little fishes who cant know any better with animate and inanimate baits is no more philosophicaly and psychologicaly different from baiting helpless little girls who cant know any better with puppies and candies.
and people who would enjoy fishing are just a sloppy sllippery slope away from mollesting a child.
or childrens. -

2019-09-25 at 10:35 PM UTCI found pockets of deep swirling water at some falls one time and dropped a hook in and discovered there were dozens of 100+ pound carp caught in them. Quite the monsters. Absolutely huge. I dropped a hook down about 30 feet and then kept yanking on the line until I'd hook them on the side or the belly, then I dragged them up for a look. Massive creatures. I doubt many people could even drag one onto land.
