In a video that went viral widely across social media – for all the wrong reasons – a young woman in Texas walked into her local Walmart, opened a container of ice cream, licked it, and then put it back in the freezer.
But now the sick joke could be on the woman, instead: she faces up to 20 years in prison as a result of her actions, according to KSTP ABC.

Police have identified and apprehended the sick-licker, but will not name her because she turns out to be a minor. Before they realized she was a teenager, police warned they had planned to arrest her on a charge of second-degree felony tampering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail. But. . .
"Because she is a juvenile offender, her identity is protected under section 58.104 of the Texas Family Code," Lufkin Police Department spokesperson Jessie Pebsworth said.
"The case will be turned over to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department."

They keep this quiet in order to prevent copycats, but there was at least one case of someone poisoning random grocery foods in order to ransom the supermarket company.
It's a very hard crime to protect against, and you can imagine the panic that would be caused. That's why products generally have such good seals. -

I'm surprised that ice cream didn't have a plastic seal on it already. Kind of careless for a company that wants to charge a 16 year old for licking ice cream.
