I think he was implying that lots of people develop addictions after being prescribed painkillers in the hospital. Obviously not everyone but enough people that it's a huge problem that everyone knows about -

This is exactly what I was referring to. Narc doesn't live in America where we consume 80% of the world's opiates with just 5% of the population. It is objectively a massive problem and it is laughable that Narc would dismiss it. No idea what he means by my 'dream world' of everyone getting addicted to opiates.
Although, I guess in Narc's eyes it would be a dream. -

To clarify do you mean prescription opiates? Tehran has almost 2 million heroin addicts.
Americans are huge consumers of prescription drugs, especially ones they don't need
Everyone is quick to talk about Purdue and ozycontin and Viagra and the exorbidently priced cancer and AIDS drugs but no one wants to talk about how the makers of allegra convinced a ton of people they're too weak to deal with going outside because they'll get sniffles. How the fuck did these people survive 100 years ago? -

yeah, i know. but they're not diamorphine and the addiction is caused by irrisponsible prescribing. plenty of people are given diamorphine, some even over a considerable length of time and are weaned off properly, then have no problems after. so my point that somebody using heroin doesn't automatically equal addiction and other perceived problems still stands, despite §m£ÂgØLs really really weak argument.
lol

I had to google it. It's actually 83% of the world's oxycodone supply and 99% of hydrocodone.
For overall opiate prescriptions it is 30%, which is still huge for 4.6% of the world. -
