I spent 3 months last year around this time with no electricity and I got by just fine. Okay there was SOME electricity but like, no hot water, cant do dishes, shower, laundry, stove or anything.
It was cold enough that I could see my breath all the time all day long so I always wore a sweater and jacket. I started burning anything wood to keep warm but my wood stove was leaky and old and I masturbated from CO2 poisoning so I gave up on that after a week.
The fridge worked but I couldn't do laundry so I started keeping my clothes in the freezer and they were surprisingly fresh after a few weeks living like this.
If it wasn't for drugs and money I probably would have died but overall it was a very rewarding experience and on of the happiest moments of my life. (maybe because I was on so much drugs). I would sit there stockpiling food and chemicals huddling up with my cats to keep warm and stealing wifi for youtube music staying up all night smoking meth and running around town scavenging for supplies and when the sun comes up I got the hot plate going to keep my hands warm and try to keep my eyes open after being awake 3 days binging on meth. Good tinnes.

I've read that a large percentage of the population was essentially perpetually drunk. Can you imagine how good it would have been, comparatively, to know about the wonders of marijuana back then, spread the word? Actually, I wonder whether there ever was a famous cannabis evangelist back in the old days. That's how I start off my day, a cup of wine and bowl of weed.
Can you also imagine having had to work backbreaking labor sunup to sundown on a farm or sweatshop? It would have been hell on earth for people like us. It's not a particularly unique thought, one that has scarcely been visited upon, but it just seems so long since I really pondered the horrors of human history.
