But a huge chunk of all crimes don't have anyone held to account. How is rape any different? If anything, catching a rapist is complicated by the fact that many times the woman doesn't want to go to the police, or does so long after the fact. That and the fact that the goal posts on what constitutes a rape seem to be constantly shifting.
Maybe it's just a blind spot, but how exactly is the accountability or lack thereof for rapists any different than someone not being held to account for any other major crime?
Yes, you’re biased then and I get it, as I’m sure you can also understand how women who have legitimately been raped feel as well. This is why I emphasized the fact that false allegations exacerbate the issue. False allegations should be punishable.
Thus we arrive at the crux of the problem and the reason why the sign is being dissected and picked apart. A man who has been unfairly accused of rape might perceive it one way and a woman who has been raped might perceive it another.
Rape is a crime that can damage someone for life and asking for accountability makes sense to me. I don’t think people are necessarily asking for more accountability over any other crimes. -

Idk what I'd even be considered nowadays, but I can think of 5 people right off the top of my head in popular media that I'd consider left leaning. I can't think of any prominent right wing popular media figures. I mean can you imagine someone questioning abortion or the validity of BLM on a late night comedy show? I sure can't. Not in 2019 at least.
Like I said though,,,,I'm open to being wrong.
So then if there's so much content, it must be pretty easy to find a battery of examples of notable media asserting, for example, that there's a conspiracy of silence amongst men right? -

I agree that false allegations should be punishable, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.
I'm also of the opinion that rapists should be castrated, but I also don't see that happening anytime soon.
Maybe I'm not articulating this correctly.
The main issue I have is the assertion that rapists are walking around because we as a society (and as men in particular) don't take rape seriously. This ignores the fact that many (most?) crimes go unreported or unprosecuted. Shitty people get away with doing shitty shit. People get away with brutal murders. It's not evidence of a society that condones murder. *
