Hes simply going to use "rehab" as an excuse to not feel bad about the handful of drugs he'll do occasionally. Hes walking around videotaping people in the rehab, snorting lines of his meds, making lengthy "irrefutable" videos about why it's actually more effective to do lines of your meds.
People get pressured into going to rehab all the time and get nothing out of it. He seems like a prime example of that phrase "YOU have to want to get clean. Not for anyone else." Going to rehab because your parents threaten to kick you out isn't a good enough reason.
But each in their ow on time.
I just wish- knowing what I know now- that I could save people some time and misery. But that ain't how this shit works. -

It's a good reason if you don't want to be homeless. I told him he's a pussy for not wanting to sleep outside, I moved out of my parents when I was younger than him and it wasn't easy.

CASPER, I was slow tapering xanax for a year thinking that was the best way to do it and it's really, really not. Towards the end I rapid tapered and that was by far the best way to do it and I'm glad I did it that way. I was writhing in pain and hallucinating and had a manic episode where I thought God was talking to me telling me to write a new book of the bible and telling me to drive to my parents house and tell them I had a box of drugs in my house and told me to blind myself or I was going to hell but I didn't, blah blah blah...
It was the right move and you need to cut your skin off around the band aid instead of babying yourself. Are you working by chance? If your not you really have no excuse. Yeah methadone is hard to come off of, so is high dose long term xanax, objectively harder not that that matters. There are so many comfort meds for methadone withdrawal, BUPRENORPHINE for 2 weeks, gabapentin, baclofen, clonidine, seroquel, bundy, benzos, heroin, fucking diarrhea medicine is a great one..
Get off in a couple months. I think you can do it if you put in the work and then you can get on with your life instead of mamby pambying about "Woe is me, i'm still on methadone". Roshambo was on like 200mg+ and cold turkeyed, now that's hard and you don't need to do that, but you can do it pretty quickly if you go at it.
You're going to start feeling like crap for years doing it how you are instead of for few months rapid tapering, and that is why I started doing heroin, when the going got tougher. I knew I was gonna feel like shit for a long time slow tapering so I needed something to deal with the pain in the meantime. I caution you doing what you are doing, and frankly, implore you to think critically about the advice I'm giving you. -
2019-04-14 at 4:44 PM UTCI mean I've been on methadone for roughly a year and a half. First year while I was using, then just chipping. Then not using, stable. Now I'm tapering, as of. November. I plan to finish tapering. I am working full time. I'm at 122mg, with 4mg drop every week. So I've got a few months, but I'm co ple tell fine with that. After 13 years, discontinuing everything isn't going to make me a whole lot better off than doing so in a structured manner would. Mentally, I'm a lot better than I was a year ago, but knowing what I know - that there's also a huge physiological component at play- I'm not just going to throw my body into wild chemical withdrawal and hope that the other dude in my head doesn't go fuck things up.
I get take homes now. I've never taken more than my dose. And for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today, I've taken 1 and 2/3 of one bottle. In a day or two I get sick, but I practice dealing with it with other stuff. -

It was an excuse to use- plain and simple. Even full agonist opiate, taking methadone once a day, not taking more, not taking in combo with shit to try to catch a high- is the first step for me. Most of the time I used. I wasn't sick. I had enough heroin around me all the time to never have to worry about that. It was compulsive.
People's experiences with methadone seem to vary wildly, but I don't quite understand why 1mg 3 or 4 months from now should be just as bad as quitting cold turkey. Your body and brain chemistry gets a chance to adjust. I get to start working out, change my diet. I just know me. I did the whole herointaper song and dance for 13 years. Tapering with short acting opioids was almost impossible for me. -

It's not the most absurd possible way. It's the most logical way, considering the messages that are constantly regurgitated through every popular media outlet:
That there is a conspiracy of silence amongst men
That men protect other men that we know to be rapists
That rape in the US is so incredibly prevalent and every person who says they've been raped- and every college questionnaire answered in the affirmative- is evidence of such.
That men want to control women's bodies and that Handmaids Tale is a future- documentary from Trumps 12th term
I mean fuck. People still use the Pink Tax as evidence of....something.
I think it's overly charitable to insert your own sense of nuance into the arguments of people for whom nuance doesn't exist.

This is where feminism gets radical, no doubt. There are some seriously spastic fucking feminists out there. And the problem is further complicated bc you’ve got women that make false claims of rape and have agendas for no good reason. So it’s hard to wade through what’s legit.
The simple fact, not to be misconstrued, is that rapists do go uncaught while women are left behind to figure it out. Nobody realistically expects men to sit down with their buddies and admit they are rapists. I think the point here, and what women ultimately want, is to feel like they aren’t picking up the pieces with every other woman they know without any accountability. -

Maybe I'm just biased because in my short life with very few partners, I've had to deal with false allegations twice.
But a huge chunk of all crimes don't have anyone held to account. How is rape any different? If anything, catching a rapist is complicated by the fact that many times the woman doesn't want to go to the police, or does so long after the fact. That and the fact that the goal posts on what constitutes a rape seem to be constantly shifting.
Maybe it's just a blind spot, but how exactly is the accountability or lack thereof for rapists any different than someone not being held to account for any other major crime?

Seriously? Every late night show, every weekly news recap, virtually every production company, etc- is headed by people who lean far to the left. Idk what I'd even be considered nowadays, but I can think of 5 people right off the top of my head in popular media that I'd consider left leaning. I can't think of any prominent right wing popular media figures. I mean can you imagine someone questioning abortion or the validity of BLM on a late night comedy show? I sure can't. Not in 2019 at least.
Like I said though,,,,I'm open to being wrong.
