Once you get too far away from the Sun, you get left behind permanently. The solar system continues on at a high rate speed, away from you, and without you. You would have no hope of catching up again. You would be left behind to float in empty space, but you would still be travelling pretty fast, as your speed slowly decelerated over time. In time, once you lost your velocity, you would be just a tiny speck floating in a single spot in space.
