The Monty Hall Problem (math riddle)

  1. -SpectraL coward [the spuriously bluish-lilac bushman]
In the old days, people would say, "don't let him get your goat", because of how tasty goats were at the time.

    1 - not benny

2 - not really YOUR food aquisition strategy, they're only as much as yours as foods earned by hamsters in a cage.

Do you understand now?

How old are you to remember Monty Hall?

I mean I was wondering why the equation didn't have Wayne Brady in the title.

Monty Hall stopped hosting this show in like 1983. from 60s-early 80s.

Since when do you have to be old to remember people from the past? Have you heard of Cleopatra? Are you over 2000 years old?

The scenario is such: you are given the opportunity to select one closed door of three, behind one of which there is a prize. The other two doors hide “goats” (or some other such “non-prize”), or nothing at all. Once you have made your selection, Monty Hall will open one of the remaining doors, revealing that it does not contain the prize 2. He then asks you if you would like to switch your selection to the other unopened door, or stay with your original choice. Here is the problem:

Does it matter if you switch?

PS – I told you I'd make an account, Lanny.

Is this based off of 2 out of 3 prizes is a Zonk? (that phrase is used in the modern LMaD)

    it's a 33.3:66.6 chance now

He doesn't always remove the Zonk prize first. If you chose door 2, he opens 1 and then asks you if you want to trade for curtain 3. You say yes or no, the unknown is 50/50

so you don't increase your odds. Because he doesn't always open a Zonk prize.. I've seen it .. and it's usually 2 good prizes and a Box. so there is 4 chances. and there is usually 2 people choosing.

I mean, I suppose if you have the Game Network perhaps a retro LMaD episode is on. I think Netflix or Prime has the old games. I watch a few of them.

Or maybe he or she is my age or close to it.
