Could have sworn i saw this same exact scenario in a CP clip once. I consider myself lucky i got rejected by a girl who was really sweet about it. We were friends a long time and i kind of fell in love with her. We were friends in a non-friendzone type of way. Since we were just a bunch of guys and girls who met through happenstance and mutual acquaintances. Anyway, i could tell she cared for me but i was too dense to realize it wasn't in a romantic way so one day. I confessed to her, pretty stressful right? She said no too. But she was so sweet about it, you could tell she really cared about how i felt about it. Lol, she was there right away to provide emotional first aid, may sound silly but she was a sweet girl. Anyway thinking back on it makes me smile, and remember how sweet she was.
If she would have rejected me cruelly, i probably would have felt a lot of resentment towards her and women in general as well. But she didn't.
How weird is that, that i look back fondly on a moment that for all intents and purposes should be a sad memory?

And it's not just me that says this, if it was I'd accept it was my fault. -

It was high school so i guess technically we were kids. There was another girl in high school. She liked me and i liked her but, we knew each other for a while but nothing ever came of it, later she started dating a friend of mine. A couple years after that she ended up going missing. Then her body was found in a forest not that far from me. They caught the killer in the end but that was just straight up bizarre.
It's strange when murder is something you're familiar with only from TV and reading about it. Reality sometimes comes crashing into how you perceive the world. Bizarre is the only way i can describe it, hard to believe but it's true. -
