   Batch cook and freeze, Just last night I made a shit load of Jambalaya made with deer sausage and shoved it in the freezer for future consumption.

   I have grown all those except for orange and it's even cheaper.
   
   You can get about 50lbs of potato for $10 worth of seed with a few rows.

    it has to do with the "Modern" farming techniques nearly 100 years ago.. they were doing it wrong and now top soil is a huge commodity.
