I am, being poor my entire life has taught me how to survive on the basics, ends meat which is the cheap cuts of meat they throw away at the end of the day and sell at a discount.
I once survived two entire winters off nothing but frozen ducks, I had no electricity so the ducks just hung on a wire outside in the cold and were reheated on a wood stove inside.
It wasn't fancy but I was happy to have food. -

to get enough pills to make an ounce will cost you several hundred $, you also need glassware, solvent and a hotplate stirrer so you are looking at $1000 investment to make about 2-3k worth of drugs.
This is why everyone just does shake and bake. Making your own shit from pills is not economically viable in any way. -

It's not even the money, the amount of pills you would have to clean would be horrible and you would have to go through several liters of solvent, an entire pack of enhancements and run your hotplate non stop for a week. It's shitty work that nobody in the world enjoys, I would rather do a million things besides sit in a garage boiling large amounts of explosive solvents.
I've spent lots of money on this hobby, it can get very expensive.
$1000 is just to get the bare bones basics, if you want real gear you need to pay the big bucks.

1kg Sodium Carbonate for basing the pills (saves having to make it yourself)
Tetrachloroethylene (red brake fluid cans from Nappa autoparts)
a Hcl gassing setup, hydrochloric acid, salt, aluminum foil
laquer thinner with MEK and ethyl acetate is also good solvent for cleaning pills, it dissolves wax when boiled.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

2018-11-07 at 4:02 PM UTCThe trick with cleaning the pills is the 10 year old "tetra trap" it's the only method that works, all the other ones are far more outdated from the early 90's and the pills have been redesigned 100 times since then.

"Grind pills with sodium carbonate in a blender
Dump formed powder into beaker
Saturate powder with tetrachloroethylene
Pour toluene into beaker until the toluene stands about 1” above the pill mass
Heat thoroughly while stirring (let the heat from the bottom transfer into the toluene long enough to bring just to boiling point.
Decant liquid from solids through a cotton ball or other suitable enhancement.
Evaporate decanted solvent (Toluene) or Chill (VM&P) to precipitate freebase crystals."
The trick is to preboil the pill mass in an aggressive solvent first and then doing the standard tetra trap extraction and enhancementing it while hot and multiple recrystallizations
I made a thread for the updated modified tetra trap here which is currently the most modern procedure that exists besides the LT method which is just a modified tetra trap using a long thin cylinder (like a graduated cylinder) to encourage better extraction/separation of pseudoephedrine from the pill mass utilizing weight/density differences
