2018-10-26 at 3:01 AM UTCI was really disappointed with Skyrim coming from the masterpiece that was Oblivion.
Could never get into Skyrim because of that, it just didn't live up to my expectations. -
2018-10-26 at 3:03 AM UTCIV had the greatest quests, the best music, best world, going into the portals to enter oblivion beats any single thing you can so in Skyrim etc
Remember the mission where you enter an oil painting?
There wasn't a single thing to do in Skyrim that came as close to that level of Innovation. -

Separating accuracy and hit damage adds depth, agility/speed builds are viable because attacks can miss, strength/endurance builds are viable because they can take hits. Like yeah, the hitbox visibly connecting and hearing a wosh sound is unsatisfying but with modern animation standards it could be done a lot better, it's just what was necessary in the era of graphics that existed.
The skyrim/oblivion approach reduces all combat difficulty to enemy tankyness.

2018-10-26 at 11:29 PM UTCoblivion was good? what? morrowind at least gave you a lot more freedom. still pissed they took out levitation, I don't care how much it fucks up your game. I don't want to play your game i want to break it into a million pieces and turn it into something better like banksy taking a shit at an art gallery or something.
turning rpgs into FPS action twitch fests gets rid of a lot of the strategic planning that makes a good RPG fun to play a thousand times. although on one hand its nice to be able to get through challenges your level wouldn't support because you're just that good, equally a good RPG should allow you to cheese through anything with enough preparation and understanding of the systems. -

Using a spear is pretty damn easy as long as you can lift the thing, they're cheap AND easy to teach a peasant to use.
Poke the dude
If dude is on a horse put the butt in to the ground and let the dude poke himself with it
But yeah I heard that polish one where you're a blacksmiths kid did combat pretty good, can't remember what it was called right now, though with the way swords are balanced it really is quite easy to just wildly swing the things, maybe not without fucking yourself up but still, should be able to at least kill that cliff racer.
That said it's funny to think that you can play as a literal retard and still become the nerevarine, fucking filthy dunmer.
Imperial master race. -
2018-10-27 at 1:42 AM UTCI will give Skyrim this; it's a great mobile experience on the switch.
Sitting here in the car playing Skyrim on the switch while drinking a 40oz is pretty tanoshi. -

are you talking about kingdom come deliverance? that shit gets so broken around midgame (like most rpgs). good game, mind you, but the fawning over the combat is way overblown. -

That's the one, might not be the best but at least you actually have to learn to use the weapon.
And that said I don't know of any that have done it more realistically. -

Yup, saw a guy play it for a bit and it's fallout 4 but worse, if that's even possible, everything seems to be green too like they'd hired one of those stupid modders that add in trees to the other ones.
There's one plus though and that's that your character isn't voiced but that's less a plus and more removing a negative. -

i only played fallout 4 like 2-3 years after it came out, and it was after I was modding NV trying to get it to work. I had to just give the fuck up on new vegas, but I wanted to do some fallout so I found some cool mods like sim settlements and went crazy. after about a hundred mods, fallout 4 can be a really decent single player survival game. i HAD to put some real guns in the game, but I also had to add a billion enemies. after turning fallout 4 into a completely different game (what story?) through the love of many amazing modders (piper has an ass now) there's something actually good.
but uh, fallout 76? lmao yeah lets play a shitty multiplayer fallout 4 with no mods that's probably more open to hackers than fucking any game released in like, I dunno, decades? its so fucking embarrassing. what the fuck are you doing bethesda.
