    Oh there will be mods. Mods will unintentionally be supported from release. 76 is gonna be as secure as a GTA Online server. There'll be mods that allow other players to turn you into Thomas the tank engine and shit.

    apparently game speed is directly tied to frames per second

    which can be manually defined in an ini

    so you can set your reported fps to 5k and be 200x faster than anyone else

    not just that but almost everything important for a multiplayer game is done client side. these are bethesda games people have been modding ever (first script I ever wrote was in morrowind tbh fam), the scope of just HOW not kosher this is for multiplayer isn't even funny. just turn fallout76 into a multiplayer modfest like all those fun player made CS maps. that would actually be dope as fuck. being able to play other people's mods with other people would be cool.

    that's definitely not what they're going to do.

    I honestly don't know anything about it, never played more than an hour or so of F4 and tuned out when I heard 76 was going to be an MMO.

    I've just seen a few articles online and a lot of the things they're doing just seem absurdly dumb.

    They recently had to tweet 'do not press any button on the launcher dialogue' because apparently if you clicked before it was fully loaded it deleted the entire game and started the download again

    yeah just one of the million dumb fucking bugs. honestly fo76 has no game design philosophy behind it at all. its arguably more lazy than some dumb mobile shit like diablo immortal.

    that works up to a point, roundabouts are like basic bitch traffic flow. you've got to get really creative to deal with serious amounts of traffic. I tried explaining the joy of Cities Skylines to some nerd once but nerds are gay and can't comprehend the joys of optimal traffic flow.

    btw if you like optimizing systems check out From the Depths, great little indie title I hopped onto years ago. my first introduction to PID controllers. why did I need to learn calculus just to figure out how to make a plane fly? I don't know but definitely some of the most fun I've had.
