youre a victim to the media hype. theyre just wind and rain. all these people getting killed are getting killed because theyre stupid. my house is concrete...not the modern twig-and-branch construction technique...so once i have hurricane shutters up, im fine.
i have a generator for power...plenty of propane to cook with...
im good. -

2018-10-10 at 9:46 PM UTCNot sure about that Fin, I see homes destroyed and water up to their roof. It looks like many escaped the worst of it, but Mexico Beach looks decimated.

2018-10-11 at 12:36 AM UTCWill finny climb the "elevated location" with me and pleasure me with his "telephone pole" until I can't take it any more and pass out?
I'll be pretty damp by the time he's done with me tho. -

they always ham it up (those reporters). Remember the one reporter (I think Al Roker whatever his name is) was falling over and slipping and shit.. and then some dudes in the background start dancing around.. that set off a meme trend everytime there is a hurricane and a reporter hamming it up. That being said, I'm not undermining the seriousness of it.. just pointing it out. It seems always a few people die every time these things happen. even here in the bay area, where we don't get hurricanes but really bad mudslides (because of clay and heavy washed out soil with no roots) someone always seems to die. and you think to yourself, Yeah it rained like hell.. but someone really close by died.. doesn't seem that extreme. but it is. Ya know what Im seeing to say -
2018-10-11 at 1:15 AM UTCWind is a fucker. A piece of sheet iron thrown in the wind is a deadly projectile. The only safe thing from any of these (avoidable risks) once they hit is to be completely unaware. The worst is to have been honest and smart and to have seen it coming.

sounds like a gaslight kind of threat

umm the safest thing is to fucking leave when told to leave.
We can't do shit about quakes. prepare all you want. if they happened everday and could be predicted, it wouldn't matter, because you go somewhere and that somewhere also has a quake or be 100 miles away and be on the same fault considered a secondary.
but hurricanes give you 2-3 days up to 7 days to split. -

Mostly true, Michael was expected to land at a 2 or 3 at best. It was 2 MPH short of a 5. My sister never got an evac order and is living it as we speak, Georgia BTW.
